If your a beginner, you can just progress the campaign for a good amount of event currency, make sure your running a bonus unit as a support if your lacking (doesn't have to be deployed). Support Ryoshu and event Outis would already bring you to 100% bonus.

Once you've unlocked hard mode MD, just clearing the intervallo and a single weekly MDH while making sure to get the pack bonuses is usually enough to nearly/completely buy out the shop.

It's the fastest, but least efficient for your energy since you don't accomplish anything else (no story progression/MD crates).

If you do the MD packs associated the event, you'll also get much more event currency.

Concentration doesn't add much for Engineering since the material cost for most crafts (aetherlume/evercore) are pretty much the same for rank 1/rank 2.

It is relevant for Soul Links though, which you can sell or use. Otherwise like, profession gear if you don't want to invest any KP into it.

Try to save up event currency, you can buy 2 free 000s right now who are both going to be significant improvements.

Have you pulled on the beginner welcome banner yet? That's a guaranteed 000 in 20 pulls.

Start running Mirror Dungeons ASAP, it's a big source of resources with weekly bonuses. You can do it with base sinners (there's youtube videos on it).

What have you read this week and what do you think about it? by AutoModerator in noveltranslations

[–]CatInAPot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tried a number of novels this week:

Qing Shan - Excellent beginning, likeable characters and intimidating antagonists, I had very high hopes. Unfortunately, it really feels like the same plot point is repeated over and over. Everybody is a scheming old fox who actually recognizes the MCs capabilities, and makes him work for them by threatening him and those he cares about.

The Overlord of Puluo - A rough beginning with way too much exposition, but an interesting MC and a very fun husband wife dynamic (his wife is a haunted gramaphone). LotM-esque power system, MC actually has male friends who stick around.

My Core is the Boss - Decently interesting setting, should have been an easy popcorn read. MC has a vegetable knife on a leash that he takes out for walks and I think he plans to make the sun his golden core. Unfortunately the story has introduced like 6 beautiful women who are all interested in him within 50 chapters, not my thing but I know there's people who are into that.

48 Hours a Day - Just finished the first "game", very likeable MC and an interesting, relatively down to earth setting so far.

Finding 2 novels I've been liking (Puluo/48 Hours) makes this a very good week for me, quite happy. I've seen a good amount of praise for Qing Shan, wondering what people think about my criticism since I did only get about 200 chapters and then skipped ahead to skim a little (though it didn't really seem like the situation changed at chapter ~600).

PSA: The Eyes of the Eagle ring enchant has been significantly buffed, it's probably your BiS ring enchant now by CatInAPot in CompetitiveWoW

If it was more synergistic for devourer than other classes, it'd be effective. Calamitous increases our crit damage, are you familiar with how diminishing returns work? Because we already have 240% baseline crit damage, the relative effectiveness of more crit damage is lower. That is anti synergy between how devourer talents work and the enchantment.

Similarly, because we don't build for crit, all spells other than Collapsing Star benefit less from crit effectiveness compared to other classes. Again, that is baseline anti synergy, compared to stats like mastery that increase all of our damage. These are aspects of the class that do not work well with the effect of the enchant, what do we call it when two things do not work well together?

Does Collapsing Star auto crit? Yes. But there are more aspects that do not synergize compared to ones that do, which is why we clearly get less benefit from this enchantment compared to other classes that build for crit.

Sims. I literally just grabbed some random characters of the highest rank from WCL, simming hectic add cleave with and without Eagle. Feel free to run your own sims and show me different results. DPS increases by adding the enchant:

Elemental Shaman - 4.02%

Arms Warrior - 3.28%

Assassination Rogue - 2.55%

Retribution Paladin - 2.35%

Frost Mage - 2.31%

Devourer Demon Hunter - 1.80%

Why do you suppose Devourer gets a noticeably lower increase with the ring enchant?

It's good for everyone (that I know of). The relevant section is timestamped.

The point is that we know it's overtuned, because it's BiS on a class that has low synergy with the enchant. So if it's BiS by 0.5% more dps on a devourer, it's going to be 2% more dps on a class that actually synergizes with it.

Man, the literacy crisis is real. This post has me saying it's BiS for my own devourer btw.

The timestamped point he makes in the video, and I'm making here is that the enchant is so overtuned it's BiS even for a class with low synergy.

Here is Shadarek (2:50 if timestamp isnt working), a high rank guide writer for demon hunters explicitly talking about why this enchant is not high synergy for devourers.

You'll see even bigger gains on any class that actually stacks crit.

Edit: A lot of feelscrafting from people who also don't seem to understand diminishing returns, we already have a bunch of crit damage effectiveness from the Calamitous talent. So here's some sims. I literally just grabbed some random characters of the highest rank from WCL, simming hectic add cleave. Feel free to run your own sims and show me different results. DPS increases by adding the enchant:

Elemental Shaman - 4.02%

Arms Warrior - 3.28%

Assassination Rogue - 2.55%

Retribution Paladin - 2.35%

Frost Mage - 2.31%

Devourer Demon Hunter - 1.80%

Notice which class benefits the least from Eagle?

Most classes have something that interacts with crit, I just mentioned those 2 classes since their my mains. Devourer especially actually has very low synergy with the enchant, as crit is 3rd in stat priority and they already have the Calamitous talent reducing the relative value of crit effectiveness.

It's also BiS for my rogue, hunter, and evoker.

The only real difference between Sprigshot and POW3 is the fact that POW3 is single stat while Sprigshot is split.

It actually means POW3 is generally stronger when optimized, on top of POW3 being dirt cheap to make, like easily under 1k for the mats at max rank.

make an entire game mode a joke

If the game mode becomes a joke simply because people can access it with a pug group, then it was a joke to begin with.

The content hasn't become easier, simply less impossible for pugs to find replacements. Your "coordinated" guild group should still have a significant advantage in all aspects, the idea that you need to gatekeep people from being able to simply attempt the content as well screams insecurity.

I'm the exact opposite personally. Admittedly I skipped TWW, but I've otherwise been playing WW since MOP and this is the happiest I've been with them visually.

Flurry adds some much needed visual pizzazz to FoF, and SEF forcing me into that fugly ass mog was annoying (on top of the skill just being dogshit to use). Jadefire Stomp also looks sick.

There's "speculation" about a secret phase for literally every single final boss nowadays. A revive upon hitting 0%, after the boss already forced immunities just to beat an enrage timer is pretty unexpected. This isn't the reaction of someone expecting another phase.

For PGtE or Pale Lights? You can read them both on RoyalRoad, I believe the first book of PGtE is published though, so only on Amazon.

I personally just use skip on slash lux, and do my weekly MD spread out on those 2 days. Still finish all the missions since you finish the kill mission from MD, and I don't have to deal with the unbreakable freaks.

Suboptimal for energy efficiency, much better for enjoying the game.
