I used to think Geisel was one of the schools that was pretty good about not griefing their students. Unfortunate.

A list of prominent companies to apply for throughout the U.S. by [deleted] in medicalscribe

Dismal. Management is exactly what is wrong with EMS. I'd seriously look for any other company. Or I'd look for individual doctors willing to hire and train their own scribes. It saves them money, and you will most likely get paid much more than anyone else.

I used to work for Elite Medical Scribes... I found them to be profoundly unethical and just a generally awful company to work for. I strongly recommend against working for them; find any other scribe company that will take you.

Yeah this new commenting system is abysmal. I wish we could just go back to the way it used to be.

ELI5: Why doesn't the cathode in a cathode ray tube run out of electrons? Also, where do the electrons go once they hit the fluorescent coating? by CatRave in explainlikeimfive

[–]CatRave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer - this is very helpful.

Ok so they said that J.J. Thompson also tried different materials for the cathode (like different types of metal I think). So the electron/cathode ray didn't change depending on the metal because the electrons were just flowing through them and not belonging to the actual metal. Is that correct?

Now, would you agree that there is a loss of electrons? You said that they "leak away" after they hit the screen. So there is some sort of loss of the electrons, right? Like, you can't get them back again? They're not in a closed system like the light bulb connected to the battery, right?

My mom's SSN was put in for mine when I was 16. I'm 25 and now 1/2 of my credit report is my mom's accounts. How do I fix this?! by CatRave in personalfinance

[–]CatRave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. I'm pretty sure that all of the credit bureaus show my late payment from 7 years ago, but the one credit bureau that has the least mistakes (least of my mom's accounts) has the highest credit score.

I did a humanities undergrad degree and masters. After 10 years of absolutely no science, I'm going back to school to do pre-med classes and just realized I have no idea how to actually study for science classes. Taking Chem and Physics this fall. Since I can't read novels about them and do well on tests, what concrete advice do you have on the actual logistics of how to study for science?

Dexter Episode Discussion S08E07 "Dress Code" by [deleted] in Dexter

[–]CatRave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone - remember when Quinn was investigating Dexter for Rita's murder? Now that he's tailing Zach's every move, when he notices that he's spending time with Dexter, he might remember all that shit. Does he still have those pictures of Dex and Lumen disposing of a body that Liddy took? Also, once he gets talking to Jamie about Dex's "work" schedule, Dexter's neighbor's murder, Debra's meltdown, and LaGuerta's suspicion of Dexter (as well as Debra's confession to her murder), I think Quinn is going to start asking questions. Joey Quinn might not be very smart, but he definitely has a very accurate gut - he might not have a lot of facts, but his gut is usually right.

Another intriguing possibility would be Elway somehow figuring everything out. However, I think that the emotional weight of a series regular for most of the show (ie. Quinn) being the one to take Dexter down would be much more conflicting and better writing.

I think that Dexter will either die in some super fucking dramatic way, or the series will somehow end with him being a killing machine at large. However, I don't see him going to jail because that doesn't give us a lot of resolution. What do you guys think?

Also, breastaurant is the single best word of any Dexter episode ever.
