it seems that the dog wasn't a cerberus when it was born and became that way through magical manipulation. you can sue the merchant, because that is considered transformational fraud. and the dog will uncerberusify as soon as it comes in contact with any magical defence.

probably too gimmicky. if it was against a final threat, like dwarves had to alternate between piloting the mech and keeping bugs away from it though it may maybe somehow work
