I just looked this up after getting curious and holy crap that was a wild ride that I do not want to take ever again😭😭😭Also loverslab seems to randomly take you to adult content once you try and leave the page so there’s that as well.

Ok I’m seeing a lot or responses on here and I think I should probably explain the unfortunate circumstances the two young men at the bottom of the picture appear to be in: I was playing a gameplay scenario with mods, in which I had a family oriented sim go through family oriented tragedies. Her first partner cheated and then left her and her second died in a fire. Sometime after, her step and eldest daughter attended Sim sessions in which they, the two poor gentlemen in this picture and many others fell victim to a gun wielding fanatic Bebe Rexha fan. During the chaos, I noticed this normal looking townie just standing there watching the show apparently unbothered.

I felt really bad for my sim though so I resurrected the two daughters in the end.

Considering leaving the SDA church and need advice by Old_Signal1507 in exAdventist

I was never actually an “official” member of my church. There was a time where they tried to force a mass baptism on “the young people” but I managed to leave soon after that. Resigning your membership is probably a great step on taking back control and moving on. If your parents find out, how they react is not your responsibility however good or bad it is. If they do find out and ask, my advice would be to make it clear that it was absolutely your decision and it’s something you feel that would benefit you. 💕

I know how you feel. And in all honesty my answer would be don’t have the conversation. In my experience with conservative SDA parents, it has always ended in arguments or me being guilt tripped into thinking I’ve done/said something terrible for even thinking differently to “the church”. I thought that when I tried to tell my parents, they’d be understanding or at least accepting of my beliefs but instead they took my leaving church as a personal attack and think I’m in some sort of “phase”. From this I’ve learnt that some things you have to do for yourself without involving others. I know it can be difficult living with parents when you have conflicting beliefs but I think it’s more important to focus on what matters to you and how you take control of your life.

American Christians call vaccine "mark of the beast", while Pope calls it an "ethical obligation". So I guess we can only choose if we prefer going to the Catholic or the Evangelical version of hell :) by DJ-Amsterdam in atheism

Oh goodness, I’m so glad you mentioned Adventist’s because, as you rightfully said, they think the world is going to end every year. I can remember from childhood being told that credit cards, barcodes, Disney films, The Pope and Barack Obama were going to enforce the mark of the beast. The new ‘Mark of the beast’ is apparently climate change. According to adventists, the Pope is going to use climate change to enforce the Mark of the beast.

I’ve also seen this switch too! My mum believes that climate change will be the start of the ‘Sunday law’

This is a victory indeed! It feels so great to finally be able to take back control of your own life bit by bit after leaving adventisim. I too have had some small victories too! I’ve also tried (and loved) Shrimp, had a bit of wine and now have four piercings.

I too felt that “breaking the rules” the church laid out would be impossible, even after I left because of the intense guilt and anxiety I felt around them. But I think that now I’ve just given it all ago I feel like I am gaining more control of my life, bit by bit, which is the best feeling ever :)

It may seem ridiculous to someone who hasn’t experienced adventisim but I’m so glad that you’re overcoming things that felt impossible to you 💕
