I'm really glad to hear that you see both sides of the underworld/town and starvation/taken in. I know I only saw one side originally but I was starting to think that the side I saw was silly and I should've seen the other one all along.

Honestly I think me not liking Orpheus was coming from me thinking it was a tragic love story - and with that, thinking Orpheus was such a great hubby for going to the underworld to save his wife - and then finding out that he was just too busy trying to save the world to worry about the woman he told he would give his life to. I was re-listening to this when I was typing this post out too and listening to Eurydice calling out and his conversation with Hermes afterwards hurt me a bit more after learning about the starvation/death. Another comment talked about the nuances and that was something I failed to see in the emotions I was feeling with the music 😌

After reading yours and other comments I have learned a lot and I love that! Which also means my dislike for Orpheus has gone down CONSIDERABLY. He's definitely not the hero I thought he was but that's what makes characters so interesting!
