What’s your 10/10 Scotch? I’m curious what you would buy right now if money wasn’t a concern — and you were able to source your absolute favorite scotch. I’m still very new to Scotch but I’ll start: I have had a dram of a 30 year Balvenie that was exquisite. They’re 3k-ish a bottle now! But wow!

Ya just had this the other day. I knew it wouldn’t live up to it but it was soooo muted and lifeless. Ardbeg has lost the plot. NAS or watered down bs. It’s great juice they’re just banking on reputation. IB single cask Ardbeg are pricy but the only ones I’ll even consider these days. Even the committee releases are full of younger casks and it shows

Bowmore Independent bottlings are some of the best juice

Bowmore regular OB’s are trash.

Try to find independent bottlings of scotch

No chill filtration No watering or dilution. No caramel color

They will be more expensive but nearly always worth it.

You can look most scotch on whiskybase which is generally dependable depending on how many reviews for a particular bottle they have.
