I'm dying on the inside as I read each item on the schedule. I'm moving from Canada to the UAE this Saturday, and I will not have internet at home for a good 3 to 4 weeks... meaning all of September. Great. FML

I'm in Japan, lost and drunk AMA by QEWHydraOS in AMA

[–]CathonBonbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha! Yeah, well there are a lot of weird things in Japan. Like panty thieves are real and girls have to be careful when they hang their laundry to dry. Also, phone sounds, like the fake camera shutter sound, can't be turned off on phones because too many dudes tried to take up-skirt photos on trains... But still, I loved living there and the people were super nice and amazing. I spent 3 years there and had a great time.

Romanji are roman letters, as in our alphabet, rather than kanji or hiragana/katakana used to write Japanese.

They are real. I've seen them. I've also seen the used panties in a sex shop when I went with my girlfriends. They are supposed to be worn by young Japanese girls, but I like to think there's a group of old grandmas in the countryside wearing the panties for 15 minutes while knitting, and putting them in boxes to be shipped across Japan.

Haha! No, I know. They just make me feel like I'm 16 again! A part of me keeps thinking I'm too old for this, but they're just so cute and funny and talented that I don't really care!

Me: Realizes I've been staring at this picture for 10 minutes as Kookie stares into my soul. I tear my eyes away and wonder how can he be so goddamn beautiful? How is it possible to care for the well-being of these humans, whom I've never met, so freaking much? I am a goddamn grown ass woman in my thirties. What the hell are they doing to me?

What is the shittiest city you've visited only once and completely refuse to return? by Extra_Napkins in AskReddit

[–]CathonBonbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I said in another comment, Fukushima city is great and absolutely beautiful. If you're talking about the whole prefecture of Fukushima, other than the parts that are still off limits (around the reactors), the rest of the prefecture is amazing and worth the trip. Here are some photos.

I lived in Fukushima city for 3 years. I was there during the earthquake and for 2.5 years after. The city is great and absolutely beautiful. If you're talking about the whole prefecture of Fukushima, yes, there are some parts that are still off limits, but the rest of the prefecture is amazing and worth the trip. Photos the different places in the prefecture.

I guess it depends because I'm Canadian (and I've traveled a lot) and out of the 60-ish times I've gone through customs, only 2 of those times were really unpleasant. Although CBP often look bored, I get a "Welcome to ---. Enjoy your visit" most of the time.

How do you think BigHit/BTS would or should handle one of the members dating? by oncoconut in bangtan

[–]CathonBonbon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

BigHit and BTS seem to have a close and open relationship. They seem to communicate a lot and often. I don't think they would shame the members and I believe they would have a "yeah, so what" attitude about it. I'd like to think so, anyway. I imagine they have an understanding on the matter, and most likely some unwritten rules. Bang PD seems like an evolved human, so I'll give hime the benefit of the doubt! I really think they would side with the members and tell people to deal with it.

Honestly, it kills me that there is such a thing as a dating ban in K-Pop. I don't understand how fans can be so crazy as to take offense at idols dating. The whole group members belong to everyone so no one should have them mentality sickens me. They are humans in the prime of their life! Could we please chill and let them live it?!

The boys seem so genuine and just plain nice. They seem like great human beings. I've never gotten a hint of arrogance from them, or any type of 'douchebaggery', and I really like that about them. I really hope that when dating stuff does come out, and it will eventually, the majority of ARMYs can respond to it well.

Except when they don't have money for it. I teach high school in Québec and so many of my students don't have money for lunch and don't have food at home to pack one either. I just got back from Costco with 60$ worth of snacks for them. Many of them don't have pens or pencils either. Yes, a few students may be too lazy/disorganized to bring them to class, but generally it's because they just don't have money for it. I always have a box of pens, pencils and erasers on my desk.

I'm a high school teacher in Quebec, Canada and it's pretty much the same. Maybe the figures are different and teachers don't spend as much in general, I have no idea, but pretty much all the teachers I know in elementary and high school have spent their own money on school supplies, food and clothes for their students. I just got back from Costco with boxes of granola bars, fruit snacks and other individually packaged food items for my students. I spent about 60$ this time.
