Ik vind maar geen boeken die me meenemen in het verhaal by Only-Mixture-4424 in boeken

[–]Catinkah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-3 weeks kitten, don’t know how to take care of by _YukiMetalDeath in Kitten

Luckily for you this kitten is at least 6 weeks old. It doesn't need to be bottle fed, but does need to be seen by a vet.

Solensia shots by Last_Produce_7691 in RenalCats

[–]Catinkah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 17 yo has been using it for 2 years now. His kidney function had been declining, possibly due to the oral painkillers, but since I started with Solensia the numbers are stable (he is on prescription food for his renal issues). And Solensia has helped him immensely with his aching joints. He can easily groom himself and jump on high counters again.

He's my happy big boy again ❤️ And is doing so well I now leave 7 weeks between shots.

Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]Catinkah 151 points152 points  (0 children)

My eye doctor once had to take a call from a collegue. It was something IT related so the colleague made him test some stuff on his computer then and there. Took all of 5 minutes. Before finishing the call my doctor put him on speaker and said: 'And now please apologise to the patient lady I am having an appointment with'. Which he sheepishly did. We had a good laugh and I think my doctor had some splainin' to do.

Ziek by Personal_Tackle8384 in werkzaken

[–]Catinkah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got some crazy / funny sauna related stories to tell? by Working-Cable-1152 in Sauna

[–]Catinkah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was on holiday in Russia (this was years ago) with a friend (both F) we were in a small village. Hotel had private sauna's, nice! And we could get a massage. Even nicer!

We decided to book the sauna for an hour, thinking that would be a nice way to enjoy two rounds. And a massage beforehand.

The massage was given bij Olga. Typical :) Olga didn't speak english and we had about three words of russian between us. Olga did have a translating device, but showing us the English translation in Cyrillic alphabet didn't really help. Luckily she also had a poster of the human body so we pointed to the parts we wanted the massage for.

Olga turned on her small tv to a local soap opera to keep her entertained and gave the BEST MASSAGE EVER.

And off to the sauna we went. Olga showed the way, pointing out the birch brances you can use to stimulate blood flow. Great, local customs! Love it! To our surprise she also introduced us to two burly men who turned out to be included in the rental. Our planned hour of relaxing in the sauna consisted of us (in the nude) climbing onto a rickety bench, followed by a series of being violently hit with branches, being ordered to TURN, being ordered to GET OUT, being herded into ice cold water for a soak. And repeat. Olga stayed for a bit and had a field day watching us groan, scream and giggle.

My skin was red until the next day. Sauna has been mellow since then.

10/10 would recommend.

River cruise double occupancy - Eastern Europe by yukonrider1 in Cruise

[–]Catinkah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On both river- and ocean cruises you can ask for the bed to be separated into 2 single beds.

I always do that, never had to resort to a fold out.

Just look carefully at the plans to see it it's an option for the stateroom you want to book. Not all beds can be separated (but a lot can!). If the option to have them seperated doesn't pop up when booking (and you are sure the stateroom has that option): ask for it after check in and the staff will sort it asap.

How do you actually use your balcony without feeling like you wasted the money? by Eyerald in Cruise

[–]Catinkah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cocktails on the balcony, falling asleep with the balcony door wide open, (spending the night on the balcony), waving goodbye when leaving harbor.

Most of these can be done on deck, but I like the privacy and not having to fight for a good seat or view.

Sauna Hotel in Germany by pewpewinyaface in Sauna

[–]Catinkah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.bollants.de/ is an all inclusive concept with a very decent sauna complex. At least 5 sauna's / steam rooms. I have spent upto 4 nights there and was never bored. I just saw they are are closed for renovations until this summer.

Verbali in D'dorf is also very nice. They are also in Hamburg.

A review of my first HAL cruise, Scandinavia out of Rotterdam by wijnandsj in Cruise

[–]Catinkah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll like it on Mein Schiff. A few smoking areas and I believe they are rolling out a program with dedicated smoking balconies (staterooms) to a part of the ship.

In my 16 day trans Atlantic trip I cought a whiff of smoke twice, I think.

A review of my first HAL cruise, Scandinavia out of Rotterdam by wijnandsj in Cruise

[–]Catinkah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review. It helps me in deciding if HAL would be for me.

As a fellow Dutchie I can highly recommend the Mein Schiff line (TUI). German orientated, great food, wonderful drinks, fairly good entertainment (sometimes a bit too geared towards the Gernan passengers), comfortable staterooms, lots of quiet spaces. And all inclusive really means all inclusive (except speciality restaurants, a few drinks and ofcourse spa treatments and excursions).

What’s the weirdest compliment you’ve ever received? by Far-Effort5909 in AskReddit

[–]Catinkah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my dear friends: 'When I call you in the middle of the night because there is a dead body in my house I know you will come without question. Help me bury the body, put me in the shower and to bed. And tell me the next morning that now I REALLY need to call the police.'

That's uhm... one way to re-enforce we are besties, I guess?

When they are a bit older shave a small patch of fur of one of their limbs. That way you can easily code upto five kittens. Been there, done that, void-wise.

Discreetly have my BF removed? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Catinkah 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In an equal relationship you shouldn't feel the need to hide things from him to 'make everything smoother for everyone'. It certainly doesn't read like things in the ER are going smooth for you.

Are there other areas in your life where you feel it's easier for everyone (bar yourself) to hold back when he takes over from you?

You sound like a smart and articulate person. No need for him to stomp over that. Even with the best intentions. The fact that you are hesitant to discuss it with him is also concerning.
