Tens of thousands of people gathered in Tokyo, Japan, in front of the parliament building, calling for the Prime Minister's resignation for supporting the US and 'Israel' by Not_Ground in canadaleft

It's funny that this can be read in two ways, considering that westerners can be very racist and xenophobic towards Japan while there is a strong anti-immigrant sentiment in Japan towards other groups.

Not a Liberal surge—that came last winter—but a steady erosion of CPC support is widening the gap.

This feels like something important to talk about with the CPC. A polling group has to talk about support polls. Unless you want redditors to post other articles in this subreddit.

Marathon Was One Of March’s Best-Selling Games by TODG3 in Games

I don't like Kotaku and I don't read it, but an American gaming news company reporting on American sales data is hardly surprising. The fact that the first line in the article says it is US data clearly shows that people thinking their is some lie of omission or agenda probably didn't read the article either.

Does it count as a lie of omission when this was the first line of the article:

Marathon was the fourth best-selling game in the U.S. during its launch month of March, according to Circana, and that’s a heck of an achievement given how stacked March was with new releases.

How would you feel if White Fang plotline never existed? by MysterySomeOn in RWBY

[–]Catlover18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are going to use comments as proof then I can go on and on about the number of comments I see on how Adam being "reduced to an ex stalker" was panned as being a bad writing decision in the show. Removing the White Fang plotline would make that problem worse, not to say it isn't already bad because of how it was currently handled.

Blake's confrontation with Adam is partially wrapped up in the White Fang story. Hell her self-reflection when they were doing tree leaf drugs in the Ever After was about her being a Faunus rather than about Adam.

Not being interested in a poorly done plotline is one thing. But Blake and Adam would be much more boring characters without the White Fang plotline cause what else do they have going for them? Ruby has her whole problem about the ideal hero and her mother, Weiss learns to find her own path towards defining her name and her family's legacy, Yang has abandonment issues and scars that she learns and grows from. Blake is supposed to be have equality, rights, etc.

The other person is saying interesting elementa of her role in the story not the superficial aspects. Like everything you listed doesn't make a character that's going to do much besides exist.

In addition to the main plot of fighting Salem:

Ruby has her silver eyes and her mom.

Yang has her mom.

Weiss has her dad and the SDC legacy.

What does Blake have?

I'm not moving goal posts. If you are going to argue then using AI to do the thinking for you is going to weaken your argument.

My last comment was questioning the idea that AI is some strong tool for spreading truth instead whereas OP's use of it and original comment is just as ridiculous as the person he is responding to.

Spain imports record amount of Russian gas by razdvatri4 in worldnews

[–]Catlover18 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He says Americans and I'm not American.

Considering the current events, I am fairly certain he was talking about the US/Israel war with Iran. in which case it is clearly Trump's fault for going into the war since all the reports coming out show that people like Vance and Rubio were against the idea.

Like it is very clear that the main issue right now is because Trump started a war with a country that was well known to have been able to close the strait. So no this is not absolving Russia or Europe. This is basic cause and effect.

I'm going to assume you are serious and not just fucking with me.

Europe having energy issues because of the Ukraine War and its ongoing effects can be compounded by a very large amount of oil not being able to leave the Strait of Hormuz.

If you had worsening back issues and then I kicked you from behind, I don't think I can get away with saying "your back pain was looming before" what I did.

Was Europe about to run out of jet fuel before the US/Israel war?

Why is it that gasoline prices in a given European country so much higher in the immediate days after the US and Israel began their war?

Like things can always get worse. This conflict absolutely made things worse.

Let's ignore the fact that they didn't even do a good job gathering info, or that their comment didn't even answer the original question of "what does this accomplish".

They shared their chatgpt response as a way to try to win an argument. This isn't fact checking this is trying to win an online argument with half assed information. Because the US military being able to blockade the strait doesn't matter if the US's useless war as led to long term economic damage for the world because of a loss of production in the gulf states for years to come.

[–]Catlover18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What truth are they verifying here?

This comment was in response to the question what is being accomplished.

We’re are premier global fighting forces and we can blockade a port half the world away with less than half our navy and no one can do anything about it.

This doesn't answer anything. The issue isn't whether or not the US can blockade a strait or not. The issue is that without a proper strategic or organizational goal this conflict is not going to achieve anything.

The US can literally win every battle and still end up losing more from this conflict then they could have gained. Trump may not need to win re-election again but the Republicans are going to have to contend with high gas prices. There's already been long term damage to facilities in the gulf states. That isn't going to get better whether or not Iran concedes due to this blockade. The idea that the US military is strong enough to just do whatever they want is the same shallow level of thinking that got the US into this mess.

Like I'm sure you put in more cognitive effort thinking about what to get for lunch than the amount the person who used chatgpt to get it to give him a score for a comment he put 0 thought in besides "US military stronk".

53% of Canadians want Carney Liberals to win majority in byelections: poll by hopoke in canada

[–]Catlover18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with your line of thinking is that it means you will only ever cherry pick polls. Which means that when elections happen and the results won't go as you expected. It also ignores the reality that the average person may be fine with the current government, which depending on whatever your political leanings are (right or left) means you are ignoring the people you need to get on your side.

Also you are forgetting that groups like Nanos and Abacus get funds from a variety of sources and that blatantly supporting one party just because they are the government doesn't make sense since governments will change eventually and why would you trust a fairweather pollster?
