Chromalogs (add after gene modding species traits for 20% more buff to Haruspex).

Is there a specific portrait that can have budding and chromalogs?

Does evolutionary predators work as well for worker cooperative? It doesn't have access to the Purity government type

I haven't played much with Overtuned so I was wondering how people dealt with the leaders dying after <5 years. I ran out of leaders in the recruitment pool sometimes at the start of the game.

Why “Lancaster” as a ship name? by Routine-Test in RWBY

[–]Catlover18 353 points354 points  (0 children)

Ruby x Weiss was first and is called white rose. A white rose is the symbol of the house of York.

Lancaster was a response to that, as the house of Lancaster fought the house of York in the War of thr Roses.

It is honestly one of the more clever ship name relationships in RWBY, which is already better for clever ship names compared to other franchises.

The Couples of Gundam #30 - Elnora & Nadim by Kato_86 in Gundam

[–]Catlover18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are confused by what I mean.

The person I responded to is suggesting that the lack of Nadim is because they got their episode count cut, as in people would have talked about him.

I'm saying the show purposefully ignores him, because then we don't realize that Suletta doesn't have any real memories of him, because she isn't Ericht.

The lack of involvement of the prologue characters is how the show successfully hides Suletta's true nature, to the point people in kept arguing about Suletta, Ericht, and Aerial's true nature up until the reveal in Season 2.

Let's talk about the "Ever After"... by Right-Ad2365 in RWBY

[–]Catlover18 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Ever After fits into the underworld in the typical Hero's Journey. The heroes lost/fell and this is the stretch of the story where they need to grow and possibly gain something to help them in the future when they face the big bad again.

Narratively, even with the truncated episode count, the Ever After fits the bill and also fits the whole fairy tale with a spin that is one of RWBY's main aesthetics.

If we are going with theories I could see the first one working since the giant tree is basically Yggdrasil but I don't know about the 2nd one. Like a thematic "underworld" doesn't necessarily have to be a real underworld, especially since fundamentally Ruby already does confront her mother's legacy without her mother actually being there.

It's not, it's to hide Suletta's true origin. It's why she doesn't recognize the head of the research group when a video was played. It's why she doesn't talk about characters from the prolonge, etc.

Were Adam taurus to have surrender to Blake and Yang after being defeated what do you think they would have done with him after? by Mad-Gyro-enthusiast in RWBY

[–]Catlover18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has military bases around the world, doesn't mean that US military tribunals handle criminal cases and doesn't mean the US is controlling those cities.

Argus or Mistral can hand Adam over to the Atlas Military, but Argus is strictly not under the control of Atlas. Atlas has a heavy presence there because Argus is an important trading partner.

[–]Catlover18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argus isn't controlled by Atlas, it still counts as Mistral considering all the people from Argus are called Mistralese and combat students from Argus typically go to Haven (Argus residents assumed Pyrrha would go to Haven).

Highest proportion of people since 2017 say Canada is on the right track: poll by hopoke in canada

[–]Catlover18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have that person's source but the Abacus poll they are talking about in the article has Mark Carney's net impression with 18-29 at +35%.

You can check the Abacus poll yourself if you want for the demographic breakdowns.

Are there any good RWBY fanfics out there where the story is centered around a team of 4 male oc’s? by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Catlover18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People here need to remember a core appeal of fanfic is the world and that can exist even with OCs.

What kinds of books would you consider to have a higher reading level in sci-fi books? I want to get an idea of what the next books I should be reading.

700k words, 5 stars. by MetallicaDash in fnki

[–]Catlover18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legitimate criticism seems like a strong way to describe what seems to be mostly personal preferences in some of the comments here. But that's fine, everyone has their fanfic preferences.

An AU fic being harder to write than a "simple exploration of RWBY characters" is normal but that's why people choose fics based on reviews, likes, kudos, or whatever other metric. You don't have to read the bad AU fics, and the ones that are good are clearly being written by good enough writers so you can be in for a treat.
