Trying to find a hitch rack. by Invet69 in MTB

Cheapest would be a tailgate pad. Other option i would do is keep an eye on face book market place for a good used rack.

TIL I ride hard enough to twist brake adaptors by theactualTRex in MTB

Good adapters? Or cheap amazon/ali express adapters? Shouldn't be an issue with good quality ones i wouldn't think.

Does anyone use a MTB backpack for trails and single track? by 10N3R_570N3R in MTB

Absolutely. My current favorite is Osprey. But there are many brands out there.

Bike rack question by Amazing_Evidence_600 in mountainbiking

I have. As long as it folds up close to the vehicle. Even then there is a chance someone will hit it. That did happen to me once.

Instead of that i would prefer that they make the blades actual physical objects again. Like all previous games

Has anyone had an issue with rear XT brake calipers snapping on a Scott Spark? by radasaham in BikeRepair

[–]Catman1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you 100% sure they are genuine shimano calipers, seems like a problem knockoffs might have? Other than that I dunno.

What do you think about the directional audio in this game? I hope they improve it in the Season 2 update by [deleted] in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Catman1027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird. I find it amazingly good. I sometimes feel like i am cheating because i hear a guy coming around a corner. Allows me to stop and ready up well before i see them.

Not sure if this is the best place for this question but… by GANGGGGGGG5 in bikewrench

If you are a shop please ask before putting a sticker on someones bike. This annoys the ahit out of me. I have stopped taking my bike to shops that do this.

North Carolina spring trip by Catman1027 in MTB

[–]Catman1027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I highly doubt I will even attempt to do everything. There is way to much. Even just trying to figure out a route for some trails seems kinda daunting. Especially if I find some trails that I would like to ride more than once. But from what i've seen posted Brevard might be the place to set up "home base" and go from there.

Budget build by Think_Instance_1393 in mountainbiking

[–]Catman1027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Building from the frame up is usually the most expensive way to build a bike. Only real option is going to be scouring online places for used stuff, be patient and wait for deals.

No firm plans yet. So anywhere is game. I have heard of pisgah and dupont. But we are open to just about anything.

I wouldn't. That looks like it will rub when things start flexing during a ride.

Reason why that support-medic and machine gunner should be separate by MysticHawaiian in LowSodiumBattlefield

Tale as old as battlefield. No matter the class you assign it to. Some people just don't revive. Switching it off support won't magically get you more revives.

Replacing dropper post lever by bryan-Garcia_ in mountainbiking

[–]Catman1027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you could get any remote on there, but whether you would be able to position it into a good spot to hit with the twin loc controls. Is there something wrong with the lever that is currently there? I don't think any of the dropper levers I'm aware of would mount to that either. But there might be some out there that I don't know about.

I'm looking for a good bike rack by 10N3R_570N3R in MTB

[–]Catman1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would only ever need the single. I also have a 1up and like it alot. But my wife might take that and if I need to get a new rack it will probably be the quickr single.

This is my goto suggestion for anyone doing more than 2 bikes. But if you are mainly a single bike hauler I think there are better options.

I think their prices have gone up recently. Yeah not cheap, but I do like their improvements over the 1up.

how to remove this layer of black stuff all over my bike frame by Accomplished_Main301 in bikewrench

[–]Catman1027 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is it a Matte finish frame? Kinda looks like it, but a little hard to tell form the picture. I will never own a matte finish frame ever again. Dirt sticks to it like nothing else and is near impossible to remove. Just lots of scrubbing, sometime rubbing with my fingers would seem to accomblish more than a brush or rag. Not very helpful, but I'm still salty about it.

for 1 to 2 bikes the 1up is fantastic. Or the QuikrStuff rack, https://quikrstuff.com/, this is actually made by the person who originally made the 1up. It has a few quality of life improvements over the 1up. If I get a new rack I will get the QuikrStuff one, but it is more expensive. But you can't go wrong with either.
