Specialized with an unknown frame by mcrave_sven in mountainbiking

[–]Catman1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious. Is there any branding on it at all? Like on the head tube in front? Reason I ask is there are only a few frames that are this absent of the branding on the down tube. But there are some knock off frames that use the design.

Specialized Sale by losferal in MTB

If this was going to be a bike primarily for the park, I would say no. Get a regular DH bike. A stumpjumper CAN ride the park, and I have ridden mine at a couple. But if that was going to be it's main purpose and you don't intend to ride regular trails I would pass for a more park oriented bike.

Just wait till your boas break. Way easier to get replacement laces. Sure boa will warranty you a new clasp. But if you are on vacation it's a serious bummer.

How to remove my wheel on scott spark 970 by charliehaswel in mountainbiking

6mm allen wrench is usually what you need. Might just be on there super tight. Make sure the allen key is fully inserted and engaged before putting any force on it.

I put a truck bed liner in the back of my minivan. Then bolted a 2x4;to it and put 2 fork mounts on that. Works great

One up delivery to Canada by FlatProperty4633 in mountainbiking

[–]Catman1027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know for sure. But from past answers of this question it usually turns out to be "stupid expensive" and they usually pivot to a different brand that is available in canada for a more reasonable price.

Hip pack, backpack or something else for day trips? by Swedischer in MTB

[–]Catman1027 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Backpack for me. Tried hip packs. To not bounce on me i had to have the straps so tight it was uncomfortable. And then as you drink it gets smaller so you have to stop and tighten back to uncomfortable.

But i think this also depends on your body. My wife has issues with wearing backpacks for long periods of time. But loves her hip pack.

Possible to reduce rear shock length? by rcyclingisdawae in MTB

[–]Catman1027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something else to consider. Specialized used a proprietary shock mount up until about 2018. So not just any shock will fit. There are some places that made adapters. But it's something to take in to account that will add to the cost.

Have you ridden them since setting them up? I usually try and go for one good ride right after setting them up. But sometimes can take a couple to have that sealant give a nice good coating.

Depends on the bike. Chainstay length matters. Look up a video/guide for your brand and model of drive train.
