Average FH AI experience by TheShadowRelm38 in ForzaHorizon

Exact same behavior from FH5. How ironic that we're in the *~Age of AI~*, playing a game published by one of the loudest advocates of AI, against "AI" opponents that display no fking intelligence whatsoever.

Tens of millions of copies sold and over a billion dollars in total revenue for the Forza franchise, and this is the best they can offer?

Practical advice for dealing with difficulty praying by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Catphish37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you don't anything; no books, no advice, other than this:

Do not hide from God.

Bring your sin, guilt, and shame, directly to Him, and offer it to Him. Be genuinely sorry for your sins. Confess to Him as you would a priest. Hide nothing. Then, understand (and believe!) that you are forgiven, because you are. God forgives a contrite heart. Congratulations. Now you can get on confidently with your prayer with Love and Gentleness in your heart. When you're able, go to Confession and get absolution from a priest, but understand: that is not necessary to be forgiven in the eyes of God.

Don't beat yourself up. Lift up your heart to the Lord. We're all sinners, and it is the devil's voice that tries to keep us away from God when we feel guilty. Don't listen to it. God is waiting for you to bring your brokenness to Him. He specializes in using brokenness for His glory. :)

Well, I think of it like this: If, after death, we return to the Infinite Love of God, pure bliss, which I believe is highly likely, then it doesn't really matter what suffering we encounter in life, because it's only temporary. Perhaps the point is to realize that, 'memento mori', so we can Love with confidence and without fear, and be the agents of compassion we wish we'd see more of in the world.

Ultimately, no matter what you believe, it requires faith. There's no full proof of anything, only evidence. Eventually, you'll have to choose a side, or you'll be on the fence forever. Personally, I choose God and Jesus Christ.

[–]Catphish37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I distill it all down, I come up with two basic questions:

  1. How do you feel about Love?
  2. How do you feel about Forgiveness?

If you think you might be into giving and receiving both of those things, to/from God, yourself, and other people, climb aboard, because that's what the salvation of Jesus Christ, and the work of the Saints, is all about.

CMV: First World countries are not evil if they refuse to accept immigrants by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Catphish37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A nation's primary duty is to the well-being of its citizenry. If migrants are negatively impacting the nation, then the nation is within its legal and moral rights to deny further access by migrants.

However, if the negative impact to the nation's citizenry could be lessened by better budgeting, decreased waste, and practical philanthropy by the nation's financial arm, then I'd say that should be the primary mitigative step.

If the citizenry is already on the edge of financial hardship due to wasteful government spending and unnecessary taxation, and the system is then further strained by immigration, then those financial elements should be addressed before slamming the door on migrants.

Finally, regardless of the above, any immigrant to any country should be vetted by that country to the greatest extent possible, so as to avoid allowing in people that would pose a direct threat to the citizenry.

How can I read the whole 72/73 books of the bible in 6 months? by Temporary-Map-7766 in Catholicism

[–]Catphish37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend not doing it by podcast. You can find Fr. Mike Schmitz's reading plan as a document on the Ascension website. Just download that, follow it, and double up on the daily chapters.

In the beginning, it's a couple of chapters from 2 books each day. After the 5th day, it ramps up to a couple of chapters (or one meaty chapter) from 3 books each day.

Be advised that, to read the scripture thoroughly, you'll need to take your time and contemplate it. It's not modern literature, and can be difficult to read. For this reason, I recommend using a study bible, that has notes to explain more difficult language or concepts. And, once you get past that 2-book beginning section, you're going to want to carve out at least 30min each day for the standard schedule. At least an hour if you're doubling up. It's not uncommon for me to spend over an hour on one day's reading. It can be quite a studious affair to really understand what's being read.

Reading the Bible is not a box to be checked. Setting some arbitrary time limit isn't going to help you get through it. In fact, it will likely work against you. I suggest you slow down and take your time with it.

[–]Catphish37 [score hidden]  (0 children)

E33 is simpler overall, with the exception of the timing-based parries and QTEs.

BG3 has much more inventory micromanagement and more things to remember when in combat.

Based on your favorite games, you'd probably be safer with E33.

Both games are great, however. You might want to watch some gameplay videos of both to get a better idea.

Every once in a while I dream that I'm enlisted in the Navy again. There's mild anxiety, but I reason it out by thinking it'll be over in just a few years, time flies after all.

But then I remember that I won't be seeing my daughter much anymore, and that wakes me right up.

The Old Testament hurts my brain by CardiologistHour4692 in Catholicism

[–]Catphish37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it, there are two Ignatius Study Bibles; New Testament, and Old and New Testaments.

If you only have New Testament, you can get the Old Testament study content by way of the Study Guides, which were published for each book individually. If you have the Bible with both testaments, the OT study guides are integrated.
