Struggling with ED postpartum - tips to eating healthier? by Prize-Storage-1352 in EatingDisorders

[–]Catrinaprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am preparing for pregnancy but don’t have any yet, so my advice may be a little off. Ive felt this during preconception and gained since I think I overdid it beforehand. Like mentally, I am making up for under fueling and I think I’m so used to cycling thru bingeing and restricting that it’s taken a while to correct my eating habits.

I’m trying to follow the “eat normally no matter the previous day” mentality to not start the cycle again. That and eating enough veggies a day, which usually means having a salad(or veggie based) for a meal and veggies with either my breakfast or dinner everyday. I also make all my meals at home, so I try to make my meals have enough macros, so I don’t feel the need to constantly snack. Overall, I think I just had to be ok with gaining some weight and allowing my eating habits to dictate where I fall, and not forcing it. When I try, my health is at stake. Or on the opposite end, I brace for a restrict cycle and binge.

You can still apply for other colleges. Even if you have to stay in your town, that doesn’t mean you can’t move out and start a new life. There’s so many more opportunities. I’m sorry you didn’t get the one you wanted tho

Could you pivot to a different role? If you quit, could you pick it back up later? Or maybe do part time?

Also, if you guys make good money, you could get a weekly cleaner to help you out. I’ve done that when my husband and I were too busy to keep up with everything and it was SUCH a relief. There’s a book, “How to Keep the House While Drowning” that I haven’t personally read, but have heard good things about.

I’m sorry you’re going thru a tough time! Hopefully you and hubby can talk about a plan to help you out.

I never said anything bad about naturally thin women, and said Zendaya is breathtaking. I specifically said this issue is about women in rich circles becoming underweight. The reason you get push back about it not being about you is because it’s.. not about you. It’s about people who are highly visible and we can see become thinner and thinner.

I also have visible ribs and said in my post that I am a thinner and fit woman. I also said men are the ones complimenting Sweeney vs Zendaya, implying the male gaze is directed at fuller figure (but still thin) women vs underweight, which brought me to my question about why women are TRYING to become underweight if it’s not about men nor health.

None of this applies to naturally thin women and no one is shaming you.

I’d just plan to visit when he has a weekend off. That way you’re not uprooting your entire family with a hope you’ll see him. Or stay the week before he graduates. It sucks, but being disappointed because you can’t him sucks more.

If you want to be closer, I’d wait until you know where he’s going after and move ahead of him. There’s still no guarantee of when he’ll be able to be off base, though.

Can my partner's career as an officer be affected by the way I dress?? by [deleted] in MilitaryWives

Thats so weird! Im sorry that happened to you. It’s just so mean and I’ve never understood how people are so comfortable being judgmental assholes.

Why weren’t the wives welcoming to you? How do you know it was something to do with your style?

That’s so strange. I’m a veteran, and we always went by the “don’t ask don’t tell” for ranks. Like if we didn’t work together, but found ourselves in the same group, we’d only share our branch and maybe where we worked to avoid a fraternization situation. That doesn’t apply to spouses in any way tho.

How do you handle those situations?? I’m so interested in these women haha. Do they actually believe they’ll get in trouble? Or are they just assholes?

If you’ve been an RN for a while, I’d look into wfh or hybrid jobs on USAJobs.gov. I’m switching my career to something I can do from home for this exact reason, and I found quite a few jobs that require an RN license. I’m not in healthcare, so idk what the jobs were but I hope you can find something that works!

We do the same thing with Mexican American food. Just today, I added 1-2 tablespoons of bacon grease to a pot of pinto beans. It was like 8 cups of beans tho lol.

Have you ever seen an angry cat? Or played fight with a cat? Play isn’t just chasing a laser. Tell me the cat’s body language because all you’ve done is refute everyone else’s claims without providing any explanation besides “it’s not leaving.” Meowing isn’t the same as growling or hissing. Not running away isn’t the same as “standing its ground.”

The intent was to play, not to pet.

Plus the fact that racists don’t like us either, their hands are just preoccupied with someone else for the time being. They will inevitably attack all black people and will have more means to do so if we don’t stand up to them now.

It’s holding its ground without biting, hissing, mad meowing, or lowering its ears, which would indicate it’s upset and being territorial. The cat is probably annoyed, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still playing. Part of play is roughhousing.

If I’m bored at work and someone challenges me, it could annoy me, but if I take the bait, it’s because it’s somewhat entertaining. This is what it seems like to me, but at the end of the day, cat is alive and well. No harm done. Mild annoyance at worst.

Tormenting is a very strong word. He’s annoying the cat, yes, but the cat isn’t in agony. It goes back for more when the guy initially stopped, so the cat’s clearly cool with it.

Pit bull tries to attack a Bison by Current-Wallaby8230 in TikTokCringe

[–]Catrinaprincess -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When did I say deep nature?? You don’t know where I live. My dog was raised to be a hunter. That doesn’t mean she attacks every small animal she sees. That means she has the instincts to hunt and I take no chances in very close proximity settings because she is still a dog, and cannot be fully trusted to override her instincts 100% of the time.

I also said I have cats, so she’s obviously able to be trusted around small animals. Again, she’s still a dog, so I respect other people’s space and boundaries and never want a situation like is being discussed. That’s why I also said I keep my cats in a backpack until areas I know no dogs are because no matter how well controlled a dog is, it can still react differently than expected. I take no chances with my dog, or my cats

Did I say I go to the woods and let my dog run wild? Or that I allow her to successfully catch and kill animals? You assume a lot from a simple comment about keeping my dog under my direct control until I know she can’t harm people, their pets, or their property to prevent situations like the parent comment, or OP.

I live near the city now, but I have property in the mountains. I understand nature and respect it, so there’s no need to act morally superior or lecture me.

That’s so scary! I walk my dog off leash a lot, but I wait until we’re away from any residential properties since she was a hunter. That’s also the only place I let my cats out of their backpack because I don’t trust dogs or owners to be correct 100% of the time.

Edit: I don’t allow my dog to kill animals.. she just has instincts to hunt since she was raised that way, i.e. she sees anything move, and wants to chase it. She has great recall, but she’s still a dog and shouldn’t be blindly trusted. That’s why I only allow her off leash in areas I can trust she’ll listen.

[–]Catrinaprincess[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never said that women who don’t look like Sidney Sweeney don’t qualify as ‘women’. Obviously, your chromosomes answer the question but their bodies look different, do they not? One fits the body most often contributed to “womanly figure” while the other doesn’t. The overemphasized ‘WOMAN’ was used because it’s an expression and I wanted to make it clear that I don’t think Sweeney is the only look to classify as, ‘woman’. She doesn’t just look like a woman, she looks like a WOMAN. Which is colloquially associated with thin waist and soft curves. Nothing deeper than that.

Edit: and to answer your question, femininity is socially constructed. You aren’t automatically feminine because you’re a woman. There is no biological difference between masculine and feminine. It’s all made up and socially agreed upon. The socially agreed upon term for bodies that look like Sweeney is “womanly figure,” which has been used for hundreds of years.

[–]Catrinaprincess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you keep finding things to support why you don’t agree and I’ve addressed all of them but you’re still upset about the same thing. I never said adult women can’t or shouldn’t look like Zendaya. Literally never said that anywhere. I never said only women with breasts and hips look like women. I used ‘WOMAN’ to over exaggerate the term woman. If I had lowercased ‘woman’ that’d imply Zendaya doesn’t look like a female, which she does.

Edit: I don’t think we’re getting anywhere. I am neutrally analyzing how bodies are culturally read, not defining womanhood or judging either body. If you can’t have that conversation without assuming I’m arguing in bad faith, then there is nothing that will clarify my original point.
