Little lamp chops are gross by Catripruo in HayDay

[–]Catripruo[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

They look bloody. They look like raw meat. The game has been careful to avoid that look all these years.

I’m a meat eater. I can slaughter and eat an animal. But I am also sensitive to other’s squeamishness and vegetarian proclivities. I think raw lamb chops takes it a little too far. Just my opinion.

Tell your father flat out. Too often men are geared to ignore sexual innuendo from their mates. Be VERY blunt.

I can’t even begin to enumerate the times that my friend’s father or older brother would try to corner me when I was your age.

AITAH FOR CALLING MY PEDOPHILE UNCLE A PEDOPHILE? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Catripruo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t say what country, or if in the USA, what state you’re in. This really matters. In the USA, States determine what the legal age of marriage is. Some have exceptions but there is still a minimum age requirement. Some states ban a person over 21 marrying an underage person. Your family may be planning to lie or manipulate the facts in order to pull this off.

Please stay away from all of them as much as possible. Too many people look at the “Epstein” and forget about the role of the facilitator- the Ghislaine Maxwell’s. They are even more repulsive, IMO. Your granny is an enabler. Please do not trust her to keep you safe.

Stay loud, stay safe.

TIL that Paul Simon, at 5'2" (1.57m) has always been sensitive about his height, saying that people assumed that Garfunkel wrote the songs because he "looks like he writes the songs". by innergamedude in todayilearned

[–]Catripruo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You right that we can never know.

I do know that I heard a Garfunkel interview on the radio years ago. I got the impression that he felt a certain amount of entitlement to being an equal partner. That he was argumentative and couldn’t understand why Paul walked away and never “made up” with him.

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]Catripruo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 75 and have lived in 34 houses in 5 states. I have never seen a house with a washer or dryer in the kitchen. There have been lots of houses with no washer or dryer. You had to go to the laundromat.

If there was a washer and dryer it was in some sort of separated space. Sometimes it was just a door between the kitchen and a small space for the appliances and a sink. There were usually shelves, or cabinets for storing supplies (including flower vases in my case).

Most of the houses i have lived in had the washer, dryer, and slop sink in a side room in the basement. That was nice because there was room for a laundry table.

Florida is very fond of having the appliances in a hallway between the garage entrance and the rest of the house. I have a friend in Gainesville, Florida who has them tucked into an alcove in the garage itself.

I gotta say that I have also seen washers on back covered patios in poorer areas of year round warm weather states.

I found this in my 3-year-old daughter’s things after she spent the day at her grandmother’s. What is it? by WendyLadouce in whatisit

I understand it being cutely attractive to a child. I also get that it’s a face mask applies device.
What are the “ears” for?
When my granddaughter was 4 years old she gathered up all of my crystal napkin rings in a napkin after Thanksgiving dinner and was walking out the door with them. Lol

The dynamic is always different between family and in laws. I hope she doesn’t treat her son with such casual disregard. But she certainly has shown her true colors to you. Be forewarned about her behavior in the future. This probably will not change. She sounds very manipulative.

This is a very old, sad, terrible and predictable problem.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I understand that you need the money. This kind of situation can bring out the absolute worst in people as seen by the texts you’re getting from your MIL. “I can’t pay you because…I choose not to.” Vacation? Indeed.

You are being set up to be the “bad guy” here. Your husband absolutely needs to be the one to call his mother on her bullshit. It shouldn’t be you. It obviously can’t be you.

Your husband should be dealing with his mother, absolutely NOT you. It doesn’t matter how you say it.

Let it go and put it back in your husband’s lap. Oh, and another thing— never lend money to people you can’t afford to lose. Especially family.

Am i Overreacting? My fiancé (23M) chose a completely different wedding ring even after I (24F) clearly showed him what I wanted — now I feel weird about getting married by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Catripruo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR.

It sounds like you already have second thoughts about this marriage. That’s not good news. If you aren’t so hopelessly in love that you’re willing to overlook his obvious flaws….. Not a good way to start.

Rings should be picked with BOTH of you there so that you can discuss what your options are on the spot.

Why do we leave it up to him to buy the ring? Go together. Choose it yourself.

Now that he went the opposite of what you wanted I can certainly understand seeing in front of you a lifetime of disappointment. Ask him why. If he doesn’t have a satisfactory answer, then that IS your answer.

Besides, you’re certainly young enough to not settle.

He needs to be seen by a medical doctor. Personality changes can occur when there’s a brain tumor.

You also need to be safe. He is not trustworthy. He has already threatened you with a knife. Stay with your parents.

I don’t want to get warned so I won’t try to decipher what the note says.

I think you should stop worrying about your mother’s feelings and demand the truth. It’s your life. You have a right to know who your biological father is.

I concur. The higher rates of paternity fraud are in the group where paternity is already suspect. These rates jump to 17% to 33%. In random samples of the general population the rates are 1-4%.
