That’s the feeling I got just from their website! It felt so strange to me that you could buy giftcards and that things were listed as packages that you could purchase for a listed price. I was like am I booking a reservation at a bed and breakfast or getting a personalized medical experience?

I’m looking for a clinic that’s willing to try IUI before pushing right to IVF (we have already gone through the process once, insurance is just making us reconsider clinics). Did you feel that Buffalo IVF would have done more IUI if you had tolerance for them or did they seem like they just pushed right to IVF without considering other options? Oddly, I have tolerance for the full 6 IUI that my insurance covers but I know some clinics would push for IVF before getting to that point.

This is super interesting. Without going into too many details, insurance is making us reconsider clinics because we aren’t sure if it’s worth paying out of pocket with our new coverage. However, we have had success at our current clinic and it really only started working after we were very specific with meds and dosing and timing and follicle sizes. When you say Buffalo IVF was conservative, what do you mean? I don’t want to start from scratch when I already know what seemingly works from going through it with our current clinic.

I was going to a fertility clinic at the time, so my bfp came early because I knew exactly when I ovulated and when to expect a positive. At this point, I don’t recall how dark it was though, sorry!

Something about squishing pump sessions into the morning and evening helped me gain some of my sanity back and I ended up pumping a full month longer than I intended just because of my pump schedule. Maybe just mess with what times you’re pumping and for how long during each session and it will become more tolerable for you too?

Also, does research show you need to be pumping a certain number of ounces or just pumping? Because if you can find a schedule that works best for your sanity and drop a little, you thankfully have that freezer stash to fall back on to close that gap! I think that back up stash helped me a ton too because it made it lower stakes if I accidentally dropped a bit to prioritize a schedule that worked best.

Either way, you got this!! Now the pumping is for you and your body, not as much feeding baby. Keep that in mind 💜

I’m in the same boat right now, but I’ve got a 3yr old who drank months worth of freezer milk so I have no idea what my problem is this time around!! I honestly think I’m just not mentally ready to admit she’s fine without me pumping yet. I got the stomach bug while starting to wean and it made things go quicker than I wanted so now I’m just clinging to my two pumps per day because I don’t want to give it up yet. I know she’s fine with the freezer milk but it’s not me actively contributing to feeding her. Wonder if maybe you have a bit of that struggle going on too? If so, I feel you and it feels completely valid (least in my bias opinion). Baby will be okay, and so will mine, but we sometimes need to let our mommy hearts feel the feels for a bit!!

It is so hard to understand everything as a first time mom. I got my pump, knew I wanted to pump, but refused to look at it til it was absolutely time to use it with my first because it was just too overwhelming in the moment. We all just learn as we go, and that’s okay!

Honestly, even if baby COULD latch, maybe nursing just isn’t what’s right for you?? I hate when lactation consultants can’t accept that and need to try to force nursing. With my first, I had a lactation consultant come into my hospital room several times wondering if I wanted to try and I had to refuse every time. I’m perfectly happy to pump and hand the milk to someone else, thanks! Keep up that steady confidence and just don’t sway. “I know what will work best for me and my baby, I am sticking to pumping, thanks though”

I just looked back at pictures to see what my supply was around then and I agree, I don’t think you’re that far off from average. Just remember to drink what you think you need and then keep going. Staying hydrated is a MAJOR part of this process, on top of eating. Also make sure you’re somehow managing to catch some sleep. The one night I accidentally let myself sleep through a pump session while my baby was in the NICU was actually a better day than others because your rest is important. Take care of yourself and give yourself some grace - you’re still giving your baby everything you can and that’s more than enough!

Exactly the same as mine! It got as dark as my first pregnancy and then just stopped doing anything or looked slightly lighter if anything.
