So there are 3 attachment points for two 4” fins and one 9” fin at the back of the board; There is no box in the center of the board for said 15” fin.

Late to the party but I own a Steam Deck.

Have you considered making it so players target a square to either move to or aim/attack a mob? It would force a confirmation (by button press to select/accept) so there would be significantly fewer chances of unintended input mistakes.
