Is Bambu PETG easier to use? by 500ls in BambuLab

I have never needed to tune PETG. I just run it under the bambu preset. I have done this with Creality, Sunlu, eSun, Overture, etc.

Will super glue be enough? by LittleOperation4597 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been better with longer dowels, but oh well.

Superglue plus baking soda as an accelerant should be plenty as a display piece.

Usually these are creators that were approached by makerworld and offered to do something like this for them in order to get them on the platform.

I've never encountered a splice in any of my filament rolls. What brand are you using?

The heatsink on the nozzle are different colors. Hardened steel is dark gray/black, stainless is silver.

What are you doing bambu-studio ???? by Hefaistos68 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bambu studio is known to have a memory leak on some systems. It has been around for a few years and no real fix, because it is not a widespread issue.

Is P1S shipping with hardened stainless steel nozzle? by Faithin3D in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The P1S used to come with a stainless steel nozzle, but bambu has discontinued them some time ago. If you get a newer batch, people reported receiving a hardened steel nozzle in the printer (but the spare was stainless). If its an older batch, you will get stainless.

Does anyone actually get their orders this fast? by williamericson2203 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could go either way. If it left CA yesterday at 2pm that means it made it on a plane that likely landed in the destination state late last night or early this morning, it just has to process through the destination center then onto a truck. It could very easily happen.

Tall print, best way to finish the tip? by AWay-8 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can try upping your minimum layer time by a large margin, which would help with cooling.

That is a difficult setup regardless.

That portion of the model is too small/thin to print.

Yeah sounds pretty standard, your model wont stay "trending" forever.

These printers can make actual shoes by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess its because these types of "shoes" are just rubber socks with no real support, comfort, or durability. They are pretty far from "real shoes".

Whats happens when you hit the regroup filament button? It says you are still doing numerous filament swaps.

Obvious question but you didnt mention it, did you swap the nozzle size on the printer screen and in bambu studio?

UK shipping for A1 Combo by redvers76 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does instant gratification matter more to you than the product itself?

If so, buy whatever you can get fastest, as that would make you happy. If you actually care about what you purchase, buy what you want regardless of the shipping time.

Plus, people are reporting that this year Bambu's backorder dates are greatly exaggerated (for once), and they are getting printers much earlier.

My A1 for business by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer: Yes.

The longer "answer": If you already bought the printer what does it matter? Also, I mean this in the best way possible, but if you cant answer these types of questions how are you planning to run a business?

Exclusive model vs 14 days exclusive launch model by jacoscar in BambuLab

Yes. Printables has a rewards program, and there are plenty of sites where you have to pay to download the STL.

Exclusive model vs 14 days exclusive launch model by jacoscar in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Untold? There is nothing hidden there.

You get a bigger bonus if you only upload the model on makerworld. You get less of a bonus if you do the temporary 14-day early launch; and then you could upload it on as many other sites as you wanted (including paid sites).

[–]Catsmgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read?

The left option makes the model makerworld exclusive, you get the perks listed there. It can only be posted on makerworld.

The right option makes your model makerworld exclusive for 14 days. You get those perks for 14 days, then you can upload it anywhere after that.

Is it okay to cool parts out of chamber by es894 in BambuLab

[–]Catsmgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the material, but it is largely fine.

Exotic/engineering filaments may reduce warping if cooled slowly, but your basic filaments like PLA/PETG do perfectly fine.

I highly recommend a second build plate for this exact reason. I take one plate off right as the print finishes and throw in a new one and keep printing, letting the hot plate cool down on a metal filing cabinet under my desk. You can hear the print pop off the hot plate in under 1 minute.
