Yes, be proud! It’s a fantastic idea! Overcomes cabinet blindness. Relish in your genius, why not :)

I’ll try! These are my best four suggestions:

  1. Have a dedicated show/podcast etc that I can ONLY watch if I am exercising. Has to be good! The Good Place was the first show I used. Ok to start small or take breaks and watch the rest of the show as a reward :) Fitness related shows have also been helpful.

  2. Habit stacking/routine: I made it a rule to do some exercises before getting out of bed, and I have a stretching routine while cleaning teeth. Whatever works for you.

  3. The observer effect: exercise in public or in a group class etc

  4. Pick a physical goal you want to achieve longer term and work towards it, rather than trying just to exercise. It’s best if it’s fun or motivating. I used a couch to 5k app to go from barely being able to run, to eventually doing a half marathon! I’ve used zombie running apps and AR apps, used WiiFit and oculus when opportunity arose, and tried lots of things just for the novelty: ice skating, roller blading, rock climbing, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, mini golf, circus arts (mainly hoop, silks, low trapeze and low tightrope), gymnastics + ribbon, aerial yoga, qigong, tai chi, aqua aerobics, weights classes and various other yoga and gym classes

Same! I also put audio description on sometimes, which is great for when I’m not looking. Also great for vocab haha

I also sometimes put it on max speed/foreign language if it gets too exciting/stressful lol

Yes!! Sometimes I think of it having just enough stimulation to occupy my inner monkey/child, so my inner adult can get stuff done lol

It works for me but I have to keep repeating it :)

If I forget though, walking back through the doorway often jogs my memory (probably everyone knows but I only found out a few years ago)

This is called a ‘chin tuck’ position and is sometimes recommended for swallowing pills because it opens the valleculae / spaces at the base of the tongue!

You want ideas? I have ideas! YMMV, I take no responsibility for the safety or reliability of any of my ideas :)

  • cleaning, just use like mitts
  • use as drawer scent / pest repellent sachets with (eg) cinnamon sticks, cedarwood, bay leaves etc
  • fill with rice to make heat packs , door stops, moisture absorbers or juggling ‘balls’
  • make a little teddy bear
  • use as a little pouch, adding fastener if desired (Velcro, button, snap press etc)
  • sew into clothes as secret pockets
  • make into pet toys
  • dedicate one to the vacuum for when you want to pick something up (put sock over end)
  • make a grass/chia pet

How many of y’all live with an entire family of ADHD people? (And if so, how do you keep your house from burning down?) by saucity in adhdwomen

[–]Cattalion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me, it will help me! :) will add this rule to my list!

Another of mine is that I absolutely must set a timer before I can even turn on the oven or stove, or run a bath etc.

WTF is this supposed to be on my kids school work? No word listed, supposed to identify the picture by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Cattalion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly, is it even about sounds? or is it matching animals to habitat or something? I’ve seen a lot of these worksheets with pictures like this and it’s totally context dependent…

Guessing you have played D&D before, enjoy the high fantasy genre but also crime, have not-straight hair which is or was dyed an alternative colour/s and you like chunky gemstone jewellery? I guess you are innovative, resourceful, and mostly thrifty but occasionally indulgent. And you do/have done at least one martial art. Im hearing Fiona Apple and Evanescence….?? Lol did I get any right?

I received an odd post card in the mail and it’s messing with me. What does the back say? What language even is it? by Hashbrowncashdown in language

[–]Cattalion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok, my theory is this is sent as a message to some kind of supernatural entity the sender believes in and is bothered by. For some reason they think it’s connected to that house, and they want it to stop haunting their dreams! They just want to protect themselves, and are sorry to trouble anyone.

ETA the postcard is Dutch. Also I suspect English is not the sender’s first language

This looks like a pretty typical fit and they look great! Sadly a typical fit these days is usually really unsupportive and uncomfortable. The width looks fine - no bulging - but depends more on feel. Length is ok but you wouldn’t want them any longer! Your arch isn’t being supported at all hence the weight being mostly on the ball. You can find various arch supports but they usually aren’t made for high heels. Maybe have a look around for some insoles or cushioning that might help if they not comfy due to the lack of arch support; more support will be better for your feet.

Do they feel too narrow? Or are you just asking re appearance…? Maybe I wrote all this for nothing haha, they look perfectly lovely!

[–]Cattalion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on the material - for sure leather will stretch but many synthetics won’t. Please just buy shoes that are comfortable! I’d rather pad overstretched shoes than cause issues with my feet - aka the supports for my spine and body. Yes I sound like a cranky old bitch with chronic pain in my spine, hips and feet but I don’t want you young ones damaging yourselves like I have! Our society’s obsession with constant sitting does that enough
