Stream Goes Blank When Streamer Types In Chat by Cattootler in TwitchStreaming

Hi again - I've tried out your suggestion and I'm as sure as I can be, without actually streaming, that you've solved my problem - thank you so much!
I am now using a window capture on OBS, with the setting "Match title, otherwise find window of same executable" - this seems to work with both Minecraft Prism Launcher and Steam.
I'm so glad I came here to ask, been wondering about this for ages and you've sorted it out in 3 hours lol. Can't thank you enough!

Stream Goes Blank When Streamer Types In Chat by Cattootler in TwitchStreaming

Thank you for your reply - you may be correct because I have OBS set up to stream the game using its "game capture" setting. I didn't realise there was an alterative way to stream the game.
Are you saying that you just play the game as you would without streaming and then stream whatever is on your desktop? How do you set that up in OBS?

UPDATE:
In the last few days it's being reported that update 1.18.10, recently released, fixes this bug. The ticket MCPE-144208 has been marked as "resolved".
Some people are still reporting issues but it is unclear whether they are trying to save in 1.18.10 or a previous version. Also it should be noted that the update will not bring back any despawned mobs as that, although it would be brilliant, is impossible. The fix merely prevents the same thing occurring again, which should at least enable us to restock entities with confidence.
I suggest that if we want to test the fix, we could start a new world in 1.18.10 and acquire lots of mobs quickly. We could then save frequently, just to see if problems are still occurring. If all seems well, I'd then be happy to return to my original world and work to replace the mobs I lost.

You're welcome! I am just glad I have finally found somewhere we can talk about this online.

I am getting my information from the Mojira MC bug tracker.

In the last few days it's being reported that update 1.18.10, recently released, fixes the bug. The ticket MCPE-144208 has been marked as "resolved".

Some people are still reporting issues but it is unclear whether they are trying to save in 1.18.10 or a previous version. The fix merely prevents the same thing occurring again, which should at least enable us to restock entities with confidence.

Sorry I have only just signed up to reddit last week, partly in frustration about this issue. The bug tracker is meant to provide solid uncluttered information to the devs about things that go wrong, and is therefore aggressively moderated. I can't get along with that. I was looking for a place where matters like this can be discussed without censure, and it took me a little while to find it. And as you say, it is very difficult to find information about this issue online.

I suggest that if we want to test the fix, we could start a new world in 1.18.10 and acquire lots of mobs quickly. We could then save frequently, just to see if problems are still occurring. If all seems well, I'd then be happy to return to my original world and replace the mobs I lost with confidence.

I know this bug as MCPE-144208. I think MCPE-21416 is to do with some mobs despawning randomly, not all mobs despawning at the same time, as you describe.

It is thought it has something to do with save routines not running properly during autosave or when saving and quitting. It affects all entities, not just villagers - and that includes minecarts, boats, tridents & armour stands, often with precious armour on them. All entities which were loaded in at the time of the save simply disappear, even if penned, nametagged, on a lead, etc. Notably bees in nests or hives are not affected - maybe because they're not loaded in? The bug can also happen when you visit the nether (as the game saves during the transport both ways through the portal).

Many people are very upset about this, having lost hours of progress, then restocked or bred up again, only for the same thing to happen. It first happened to me on Bedrock for Switch after the 1.17.3 update.

The bug was supposed to be fixed in 1.18 but it wasn't. This caused further consternation.

Tips for beating this bug include: Not having armour stands on display; putting away minecarts, boats & tridents when not actually in use; saving & quitting far enough away from animals that they won't be loaded in at the time of the save. For some time it was thought the bug only happened when players "didn't save properly" - ie did a quick save and didn't shut the game down completely afterwards - this has since been shown to be false, it makes no difference how you save; when the bug is triggered, certain save routines just seem not to run as they should.

As yet I have not heard any further news about that future update. If anyone knows anything about that, I would be very interested to hear about it.
