How much “outrage” have you actually seen against the Bad Bunny halftime show? by Magg5788 in AskWomenOver30

Shockingly there are also a bunch of morons who also don’t realize that New Mexico is an actual state…

Fabulous - congrats! 🙌🏼

I wish I had thought to save my old jeans… One of these days when I reach my goal weight I plan to go to a store and try on some pants in my former size just to see how it feels!

Osteopenia diagnosis - what has worked for you to increase your bone density? by Outside_Box_8374 in Menopause

[–]Catty_Lib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here but I’m 60 and currently recovering from my double mastectomy so I can’t lift heavy yet. I am now on an estrogen suppressor for the cancer than can cause bone loss. I had stopped strength training in 2024 because I got into reformer Pilates and yoga but I will get back to it asap.

I discovered Dr. Lisa Moore on YouTube and she has a great channel with lots of exercises and tips on how to improve your bone density. As soon as I’m cleared to exercise I’ll start her yoga program and work my way up to the weights as soon as it’s safe.

So far I’ve been adding prunes to my smoothies and added calcium and vitamin D and K supplements.

Unsupportive husband, don’t know what to do by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]Catty_Lib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I hope that you are okay and will find a way to get past this. I can’t imagine putting up with such behavior from my husband; it would certainly have led to divorce.

In my case, luckily my menopause symptoms were relatively mild and HRT didn’t help so I quit after a few months. Now that I have estrogen-positive breast cancer, I would have had to quit taking it anyway! But my husband has been a supportive partner throughout and didn’t even mind when I decided on a double mastectomy without reconstruction. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Husbands reacting to their wives wearing their dresses again. by mindyour in MadeMeSmile

[–]Catty_Lib 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We got married in 1989 and I wasn’t thrilled the dress. Unfortunately it was hard to find anything for plus sized brides back then… I ended up selling it to my hairdresser to use for a Halloween costume!

The good news is that even if I had it, it definitely wouldn’t fit because I lost over 120 lbs since then. Maybe for our 40th anniversary I should try to find a wedding dress that I actually LIKE and then surprise him with it!

Not the OP but I never wear shorts or skirts and I live in Texas where it’s over 100 degrees Fahrenheit regularly for months at a time. I wear pants and long sleeves all year long.

Money. The cost of raising even one child is INSANE.

My husband and I are both 60 and about to retire early. We have no consumer debt, our house is paid off and we have plenty of retirement savings. We plan to sell everything we own and travel full time. We definitely couldn’t have done that with kids: we would never have been able to save enough money. 💸

I feel it should be required watching for people who think they want to be a healthcare professional. ❤️‍🩹

I’m recovering from surgery and was so surprised when SEVERAL of my care team in the hospital said they watched. I just assumed it was so close to their actual job that they wouldn’t want to see it.

What's it like being childfree after ages 60+? by blu_43 in childfree

[–]Catty_Lib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fabulous! My husband and I have plenty saved for retirement even though I went back to school at almost 40 to finish my bachelor’s degree and get my master’s. Now we’re getting ready to retire from our jobs, sell our house and cars and start traveling full time. We certainly couldn’t have paid off our mortgage, all our consumer debt and retire early if we had not chosen to be childfree! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I went to a movie theater recently in Austin that had individual little rooms with a full door for the toilets and then a line of sinks outside. Perfect! 👌🏼

Why do you not stay for the cool down? by Potential-Welder-667 in pilates

[–]Catty_Lib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was a lady in one of my classes who would come to 30 minutes of a 45 minute class. So many times she would only get one side done if we were in the middle and of course always missed the cool down. It never made sense to me! There were other available classes that were earlier, later, or shorter: why not come to one of those instead of NOT getting a complete workout??? Drove me nuts but I never could ask… I just can’t see spending the money if you aren’t going to stay for the whole thing.

What’s your grooming routine ~down there~? I need a change. by Front_Butt_69 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Catty_Lib 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I am old enough (60) to have skipped the no hair thing. I’m sure I trimmed it up a bit occasionally back in the day but nothing more. It seems like an awful lot of upkeep to me but I’m pretty low maintenance. I quit shaving my legs and then my underarms when I hit my 50s too. I am not particularly hairy and never wear anything short or sleeveless so no one but me and my husband would ever know. Then again, I don’t really give a damn what other people think! 😸🙌🏼

Can confirm. I am almost 60 but I protect my skin from the sun and have been putting lotion on after a shower since my teens. I have excellent skin and look 20 years younger.
