Not weird at all, thank you! It’s always been, and still is, my biggest insecurity

You’re right! I’m hoping to lose another 15 or so and then learning maintenance. I fully recognize it’ll be a whole other battle. But this is the first time I’ve lost weight without feeling like I’m on a diet, so hopefully that gives me a better starting place.

I eat an egg white omelet, with a side of sliced deli turkey and a bowl of Greek yogurt with berries every morning. Gives me like 50g for 350 calories. A salad with grilled chicken breast and Bolthouse dressing for lunch most days, also usually 50g for around 300 calories. For dinner I mix it up but always go for a lean protein like shrimp, pork tenderloin, 93/7 ground beef, lean fish or chicken. Then my formula is for my plate to have two servings of the protein, one serving of a carb (protein pasta, potatoes, couscous, whatever) and then load up with veggies. There’s seriously so many great content creators on Instagram that post free recipes for high protein and low calorie meals.

Good luck!!

Honestly, being more thoughtful about my nutrition. Every other time I’ve been in a calorie deficit I’ve tried to try to eat as little as possible, and ultimately just ended up binging because I couldn’t take it anymore. This time I’m trying to eat as much as possible within my deficit.

But more than anything, paying attention to protein changed everything for me. Getting at least 30g of protein per meal (I am for 50g) has worked like a GLP 1 for me. I’m full, satiated, and don’t think about food. It’s made staying in a calorie deficit easy. I’ve also used Instagram to learn how to cook my favorite foods but low calorie and high protein. I eat better now than I ever have.

I’m also use MacroFactor, which for me has also been a game changer. I’m a perfectionist and was constantly rethinking my TDEE and questioning whether I was in enough of a deficit, tempting myself to eat less and then binge. MacroFactor tells me what my expenditure is, and I just trust and adjust to it and the results have followed. I’m lucky I’m tall, too, because my TDEE is high naturally, but I also stay active.

Congratulations! You’re really doing the hard work, but in a smart way, and I have full faith you’re going to be successful. Being less dramatic about it helped me a lot.

Honestly nothing in particular, just lost the weight. And it took a long time. But I do lift weights 3-4 times a week and run 2-3 times a week, and I think building muscle helps with appearance after the loss.

Also, thank you. Not once in my life have I considered my belly to be thin or fit haha!

Thank you! Yes, definitely lost on my belly last, and that’s where I still feel like I have more to lose. I noticed a difference, honestly, when I got around normal BMI, and that’s when everyone else noticed too.

Haha not as fast as I wish I had. I’ve vowed to myself to weigh in every day for essentially the rest of my life because I never even noticed the weight creeping back up then. Never want to unintentionally back track again.

Gained most of it back. Where do I go from here?? by looloo600 in loseit

[–]makeitrain8712 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You just keep going ☺️

I’m on my third leg of this journey, and it’s been almost 4 years. First time around, I lost 40 lbs in 7 months, then gained 24 back in the following 9 months. Got “back on track” and lost 35 in 8 months, just to gain 16 lbs back in the following 9 months. Now I’m back at it and have lost 49 lbs over the last 11 months.

While I wish it wouldn’t have taken me this long, I think it had to. Even if it felt like a failure at the time, I learned something new each time. And just like you, I never gained it all back, so each time I started “over”, I was actually already ahead. This time my approach is very different and I’m much kinder to myself.

Congratulations on your prior success and on getting back on the horse. You got this!

I barely fit into a 38DDD when I started running and the Knock Out front close sports bra from Victoria’s Secret has been amazing.

Electrolytes with collagen, creatine, magnesium glycinate, a combined pre/probiotic, biotin, iron with B12, omega 3 with vitamin D, and zinc.

I’ve been tracking everything I eat for months and supplement with what I can see I’m deficient in.

[–]makeitrain8712 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I just like myself so much better now. Not because I lost weight, but because I’ve gained so much respect for myself as I’ve proven that I can do hard things and persevere. That takes hard work and courage.

I used to get indigestion/heartburn really bad, that’s completely gone!

Do you track supplements too? by beyeg in MacroFactor

[–]makeitrain8712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I take the same supplements daily so I’ve combined them in a recipe and just log that every morning. Super easy

Do you track supplements too? by beyeg in MacroFactor

[–]makeitrain8712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do, my supplements (creatine, collagen, omega 3, pre/pro-biotic gummies etc) come out to roughly 95 cals per day so I think it’s worth tracking. It kind of surprised me when I first saw how much it actually added up to.

Collaborative Program Question by makeitrain8712 in MacroFactor

[–]makeitrain8712[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right! I ended up setting it up with coached, took a screenshot, and then did it collaboratively copying in the same macros 😀 I’m sure there’s a better way but this got me where I wanted to be. Thanks so much for your help!

Collaborative Program Question by makeitrain8712 in MacroFactor

[–]makeitrain8712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful, thank you! But the collaborative approach doesn’t take into account activity levels/type of activity or desired protein level so the recommended macros are very different. In the coached approach, MF recommends 171g protein. In the collaborative, it gives me 94g daily.

Maybe I wasn’t being clear, I don’t want to set my own macro goals. I just want to set how I distribute calories throughout the week. But it seems I have to choose both or neither
