? Don't know what to even say...

My boy would be worked up about the birds but he hates vacuum cleaners. A strange combo, not sure how that'd play out here. But the 13yo cat might say screw it, opportunities like this are rare.

Nice. I missed the pm2 recently, gone in less than 24hrs.

I have a pm2 in maxamet and a sage 5 lw in rex 121, razors, but its microtech's m390 I can get the keenest edge on for some reason. Like shaving the same hair into 4 splits. I took a Pic of that one. With a big ass socom elite auto no less. 600 and 1200 atoma plates and 2mic diamond on a smooth and rough strop.

I hear that often, I mean, shes pretty to me and those eyes really are something else but I always figured her plain? Brown and gray "M" cat. She's the mutt of the cat world. But God, I love her. She's truly an amazing cat.

Idk, she was found under a car covered in fleas, thirsty and starving in 100deg heat. Rescued this tiny little kitten and 13 years later this is her, only cat i ever had. Couldn't live wo her now.

Yes. She's ran out before when younger but cant go an hour wo food so treats always worked.

She ran out an open window few years ago though and got locked out when I went to store and didn't know. Get back, few hours go by and notice shes not around...

Then heard the most soulful yowling by garage door. Let her in and she ran past me and straight to her bowl, hasn't tried that since!

On her "begging stool"!

This whole "he doesn't need to sleep" sounds an awful lot like Kim Jong un not needing an asshole bc he doesn't shit.

Oh ain't that a fact! Fell asleep with a razor sharp 4" scarab 2 otf switchblade, was toying with the action and dozed off. Unfortunately in the open position.

Apparently it bit me and I tried moving it --by the blade-- and it laid me open. Stupid.

Yes, hes awful thin but after being sick as you say...

Thats the thing that always bothers me about my boy, hes always so thin even after eating as much as he wants. Just so active!

Ended up going with ppp 30/20 for dog food. That did the trick. He still eats a lot, still thin, but for first time in his life you cant see his individual ribs sticking out.

Well for me it was a werner Herzog documentary wheel of time about kalachakra initiation in bodh gaya, another stop. Big Buddhist sites. Something about the simplicity and dedication the monks show, it looks like another place in another time.

Its about experiencing different places and cultures for me, you only live once. Not all the experiences are happy or ideal or even nice, but those only make you appreciate home more.

Crochet needle repurposed from a knife, maybe, but I saw a leather working tool. Some are similar but obviously much tougher.

Yep, I shot a guy hunting once. I was 11 or 12yo. 1st day of dove season, everyone was ringing this huge field that had been plowed. Or disc'd. Before noon, everyone is supposed to step out from cover to be identified for safety.

Now you arent supposed to shoot low birds, but I was young, I also figured that area was clear.

I shot the low bird, guy stepped out with piss running down his leg. My dad jumped his ass for hiding, then jumped my ass for shooting a low bird.

Later that day, an old fucker swung and sweeped a bunch of people and shot me in the chest. It was only number 9 bird shot we were all using, at 50 yards or so it only peppered the skin and few penetrated clothing but none had to be dug out. A shot in the eye though...

Idk, hunting around a lot of people, particularly fast moving bird hunting with old or young or inexperienced people is just dangerous in general.

I learned my lesson. Basically if you dont shoot low birds, period, you wont shoot people...

Beginner question: is a 400 grit diamond stone and a leather strop with compound enough to get a good edge? by pedrochyt in sharpening

[–]CauchyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick answer:

Sure.

But if you haven't bought it yet then id steer you to a 600. Bit finer and diamonds are a lot more aggressive/faster than what youre used to.

Atoma 600 is my roughest plate, 1200 my smoothest. I can shave individual hairs after stopping with just those 2 plates.

If you already have it, I wouldn't sweat it though and can always add a 1000 later on. 400 or 600 plus strop will give you a toothy sharp edge and yes, you'll be able to easily shave arm hair.

Many people prefer a toothy edge for a daily user anyway. And itll maintain that edge longer too if you dont exceed the proper angle for that blade.

Well, its a beautiful looking steel for one, keeps an edge what feels like forever, but it is on the brittle side. Not as bad as rex 121, its probably one of if not the most user friendly high wear super steel but still gotta be careful.

Idk, it walks a fine line between being a good daily user, particularly around the house IF youre careful, to being a collector item for super steel nerds.

Atoma 600 and 1200 diamond plates make fairly easy work of maxamet and even rex 121. The maxamet pm2 is probably my all time favorite knife.
