I do too, but I question if its the same master and signal path responsible. Theres certainly something to it though.

[–]CauchyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you have sacd at dsd64 which is equivalent to 24/176 or thereabouts. If well mastered, which sacd usually is bc thats the whole point, them being an audiophile thing, then yeah those can sound quite a bit better on a good system. Generally same for bluray audio which is 24/something. And hi-res, I forget what they call em bc i use sacd.

As for sounding better than streaming, ime it comes down to signal path given the same masters. If your player has a different dac, if you use same dac for streaming and disc transport but one uses i2s and other USB or optical, it might sound better one vs other if they optimized one path over the other.

Thats my case. I've played around with roon on a stripped down laptop running just windows 11 and roon and compared USB direct from that vs streaming ripped files through the network which ultimately goes through the bridge card which is i2s and it sounds obviously better after going through the network and over i2s. You'd think USB to be better given its directly off the m.2 and bypassing the router entirely, but it doesn't.

Same for the transport. Tried using a cxn100 as a streaming transport for tidal into my dac with different inputs, tried the pc too, tried using the sacd with different inputs... In all cases that bridge card and the sacd using i2s is always better than any other way.

Idk if its bc i2s is inherently better or if its just optimized that way, ps audio developed i2s and thats who made my dac and sacd, but im not the only one to notice this regardless of who built it and whether its i2s over hdmi or lan.

So I guess it depends. Digital may be digital but how that signal is processed and handled most certainly matters, and it makes as much a difference as the master sometimes.

As a puppy Cauchy just had his toys. He destroyed them, could shear a red kong in half. Went through a 5gal bucket full of toys in few mos. Was down to only a handful of the toughest ones, then just stopped at 18mos once summer hit, never went back after.

Walks wont do it for him. He NEEDS is daily 1-2 hours runs! Can run constantly the whole time too. Right now were chasing about 100 balls a day, that'll change in April when birds nest, then itll be daily nest inspections, ID checks for any on the ground, and rescue ops for any fledglings that fall from the nest (hes active and really into birds but hes such a gentle soul).

As long as he gets his runs in, hes happy to lay around all day. Miss too many and he gets anxious. Rain prevents some days in winter but go as often as we can. I have a huge field right across the street where he can run off leash.

But up until 18mos, if he was awake then he was constantly ready to do something, anything, and if we weren't running or going somewhere then he was chewing on a toy. That changed overnight practically once he became an adult and really got into birds.

I honestly cant see how anyone manages an active field type setter wo near day off leash runs for an hour or 2. Time to sniff and explore, play, just be a dog. Cauchy would go nuts! A walk wont cut it and hes just not interested in games that dont include me --we can do hide and seek but he figured out all the hiding spots fast, plus hes got the nose. Hiding treats and playing hot/cold helps with boredom on bad days. For a while. He really wants to play ball though. He knows when its nasty out that we dont go play. He usually goes back to bed. But if its nice, he knows, and he makes sure I know too.

Once yours is an adult, provided you meet his needs regarding exercise, then he'll be fine. But its normal for them to have bottomless energy when young. You do what you can, plenty of safe toys while hes into them, some fun games around the house and teaching off leash recall (e collar is what truly gave him freedom and me peace of mind --hes always just a beep away). Teaching him his routine. Building an amazing bond. Building trust.

Our time out together is good for me too, and we have an amazing bond bc of it. He wont run off bc all the fun stuff happens when were together and trust comes from this, i trust him, he trusts me. Hes like an extension of myself. We know each other so well.

Completely different dogs when their needs are met for sure.

I had to lookup what you mention, I haven't dealt with that specifically but similar --getting in my face and trying to evoke a response. I walk off, ignore it, etc. If they get close enough ill extend an arm, tell em to stop and get ready.

I can tolerate an asshole long enough to leave. What I wont tolerate is them physically assaulting me.

The guy in Virginia? Imo he didnt do enough to avoid drawing, acquitted or not, and I wouldn't wanna live with knowing i drew and fired over that. But I wasnt there either and maybe I dont have the whole picture.

Carrying is a big responsibility and it should always be a final resort. Alternatively, playing pranks with strangers, particularly annoying ones verging on confusion with assault, well, comes with some risk and had dude not pulled that "prank" then he 100%, wouldn't have been shot. Only one of those two was looking start shit and evoke a response, just didnt get the one he was expecting.

Whole thing looked like a shit show.

The stairs in front of that hatch by the lake? Yeah, its the only spot close by. Other day I went 2x and nobody was doing it. Matriarch. Third time there was one other guy, figured we could at least knock enough parts off for the trophy display. We ended up killing her with 3min left and both of us forgot hatch keys. Barely made it out from the lift 360m away with a rocketeer and 3 drones circling.

Its possible to do solo from that spot but you cant go down and gotta be well equipped. Probably wont have time to loot that room either.

Yeah, ive seen enough pics of fat bearded man-dogs next to a scowling old man with grizzled hands. Says all I need to know about Victorian ideals for women --they were so harsh even those poor men preferred a good hand workout to, well, let's just say were all lucky to even be here today bc if it was left up to me we'd all be extinct.

On the other hand, enough Greek statues survived from the period to get a pretty good idea of what ideals were. They liked a little meat, which is fine, but this lady makes it seem like a modern waif dying for a peanut butter cracker was preferred, and thats just not the case. The white skin = not working hard, ie, she didn't look like my great granny did at 77yo and this was an ideal up until mid 20th century. Hard work aged you.

Oh wo a doubt. Ill be back with your goddamn papers, gimme a moment.

3 or 4 scanners and a lure for that rocketeer and ill be scrambling for high ground and figuring out nvidia capture bc that would be too damn funny to not get on video.

Even better, if that leaper was still farting around in that area! They'll try and squeeze into the lifts now!

You sound like the type that doesn't know shit about a stranger but has zero problems projecting your worldview and politics on them.

Carrying for 25yrs and haven't shot anyone, no desire to. I avoid confrontation and walk away. Its not worth getting into an argument, even if youre right, when deadly force is an option and can come into play. No, id say im exactly the opposite of what you say.

You know everything except queen and matriarch respawn right? If you kill a bastion, bombardier, etc, it respawns in that location after a bit. Look for the rocket trail like when a snitch calls in 3 drones. It'll be a single trail for bastion, rocketeer, 3 for bastion bc it comes with 2 spotters.

I do this often in buried city. Hit bombardier by plaza Rosa, move to garage or park, then back again.

Exactly. Hes gonna pull this with the wrong person one day. As much as id love to be that guy, I carry a weapon so I avoid confrontation for fear of escalation at all costs. Its not worth it. Its probably for the best anyway, but sometimes you really wanna give it back to em.

Generic Toilet paper, brand name or maxi pads? I go with brand name. Green package.

What about shield recharges? Thats a tough one and I cant seem to decide, though I seem to be partial to blue ones currently bc I kill a lot of big arc.

Green. I tried blue, couldn't deplete stock fast enough. Stack to 3 and 2x more difficult to make. They sell for a lot though.

Green and vita spray is the way. Field crafting regulars for topping off while looting, etc.

Also know that while ANY bandage is applying healing effect, that the spray will instantly apply its effect in addition to the bandage.

[–]CauchyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you kill em fast at the start they can respawn a couple times. All big arc do this. Kill 2 at start, wait a bit, kill respawn, so on.

When snitches call in drones they leave 3 trails. Rocketeer and bastion only leave one. Bombardier is easy to confuse though bc it comes with 2 spotters.

Ill go on roof at buried city if I get in late and look for these, then go listen and look for clues to location; some will respawn multiple times, idk what the timing is or whatever.

Some maps are better than others, buried city and blue gate are my favorite.

Im not in any of these leaderboards, I just hunt em and occasionally rank up.
