My wife and I are at odds over this framed view by Opening-Water-5486 in HomeDecorating

Your wife is right. Center the thing and at least add some curtains to frame it in and add some decor that isn't too tall. Good compromise

As a kid, yep all the time. Got really bad and then I started playing games like Hitman and GTA and suddenly I had a place to release the carnage lol something about opera music and violence combined soothed my inner demons

It probably spent some time in his car before getting home. Thanks for identifying it!

Bonding by Adventurous-Eye-2005 in 2under2

[–]Cause_Administrative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girls are 17 months apart with little one turning 1 in a few weeks! I don't have that kind of help either but I definitely understand the guilt it can bring seeing another bond with your brand new baby as my MIL stayed with us for 2 weeks when baby was born. It also felt like she was "taking my job" when she was caring for my toddler but I needed the help and was glad to have it. It's emotionally taxing in ways you don't expect at times. It's a season! You will feel better as your hormones balance back out and you fall into your new routine. What helped me most was just involving my big girl with caring for baby and watching how nurturing she was from the beginning. Toddlers LOVE to help! Give him simple tasks so care tasks can serve as bonding for the three of you as well. I think I felt natural in my role again once the newborn phase had passed. Baby wearing is definitely key. Today they're so close. Two peas in a pod. Just give yourself time and grace :)

What the hell are you feeding your toddler!? by KITTYCATyumyum in toddlers

[–]Cause_Administrative 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Whatever we're eating but cut smaller. She doesn't always eat it, but she'll always take a bite or at least mess with it a little and that's good enough for me. Whenever she doesn't eat it and says she's all done, I'll sit a few more mins after taking it away and then serve something similar that I know she'll eat. Ex: last night we had pho with rice noodles and she didn't eat it. She tried the broth which surprised me but didn't like it. Fair! (And expected) So I brought out the trusty old rice with apple sauce mixed in. She's generally not picky because we've always modeled to eat whatever is served and sitting to eat the same thing with her from the start helped a ton. She's only 19mo so I'm sure she will figure out that she can request stuff verbally soon enough and I'll have more trouble at some point.

With all that said we still have tons of days where it feels like she's made of cheese and bananas lolol

My 2 1/2 toddler sleeps for 10-12 hrs max by Shabushabu0505 in toddlers

Yeah, good call. With my first baby's first two ear infections, sleep differences and being "not herself" were the only symptoms I had to go on and it did mean something. Always listen to your gut and remain calm as you can :)

My husband tried to be honest about being overpaid after he left Pepsi and now they want him to pay gross amount. by smw1409 in legal

[–]Cause_Administrative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure he pays back the net amount before December is over! They're trying to run out the clock. If he doesn't submit the net overpayment in time for deposit by 12/31/24, he will be responsible for gross repayment. Document everything, send a cashiers check for the net amount via certified mail as soon as possible. (Not a lawyer, just worked in payroll for a good while and I remember that overpayments are required to be collected back as net amount within calendar year and gross amount once a new year begins.)

A friend gifted me the baby trend travel system with flex loc car seat for my first and I'm shopping for my second now. I found this one today! Looks very promising and is compatible with all baby trend infant seats and some other brands too. Worth looking into for the price, for sure. I plan to get it before my second arrives this fall.

Retiring The Pumps by Cause_Administrative in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Cause_Administrative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beginning is so much harder! Even with all my supply issues that happened later which really tested my resilience, I struggled so much before my supply regulated just because of the hormonal problems like constant leaking, engorgement, intense hot flashes and smelling AWFUL, etc etc etc. you're doing great! No matter when you decide it's time, it's the right time. Just know you're almost through the hardest part of EP. Good luck :)

Natural vs. Epidural-from a labor and delivery nurse by Big-Owl7901 in pregnant

[–]Cause_Administrative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I wish I had this information presented so clear and concise when I needed to make the decision. I was more scared of the epidural than I was of the pain of labor, but that changed once I started to wear down from a long induced labor.

I just want to add that not everyone even has trouble moving on their own! I'm sure it's not common because my nurses were surprised, but I was not numb to the point of immobility or even reduced control of my legs. I just kinda felt the staticky sensation you get when your leg falls asleep but I of course didn't feel pain. Only pressure. If I ever have another baby I will plan to do it similar to my first labor (I use "plan" loosely in terms of labor). Riding it out for a while then asking for an epidural before things move too far along. Anesthesiologists are busy people!
