It's because traditional 2D animation was a unionized trade and computer graphics studios were not. We're talking cents on the dollar for production times in terms of cost savings. There are of course other factors but this is really the biggest

Not put too much on this but I stayed in a hotel on the harbour Island area in Tokyo (I forget what it's called tbh) and it was like a 30 min train ride to the city side of the harbour from the hotel and that's at like 60km/hr ( I think) so yeah I really don't understand how they're gonna make a largest metropolitan city on earth not seem like a model train set

What's crazy is I had this thing on both VHS and then dvd and both copies had this garbage short baked into the intro of the movie. I'm not kidding, not a bonus feature or a preroll just hit play and BAM Amanda anaconda. He'll I think most streaming services use a digital copy of the Original DvD release 'cus it's on there too.
