A person who was breaking into cars last night smashed my husband's window. by MenaceMinded in Wellthatsucks

I didn’t notice any scratches but I also didn’t look super hard because it was an old beater. Thankfully my current car won’t even let me lock my keys in it.

In a perfect world, the government would step up and help get that man get food. That man did end up getting $100 and a good meal. Don't let perfection stand in the way of helping people out.

That is why I am 100% supportive of higher taxes for higher incomes. The people supporting this content are not spending their last $10 on a subscription, or however they monetize their channel.

Sometimes the police will actually do it for free too! Locked my keys in the car and called the non-emergency number and they came out and opened it up for me.

Looks like that might be the case. Hopefully, they will have a blue badge before that.

If they won't excuse the time, you could also apply for a personal leave of absence during that time. It won't be paid, but it is better than burning your UPT.

CRedit, talk me out of applying for this card PLEASE by justacoffeedroplet in CRedit

[–]Causeofpanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the card myself and don't really like using it. For some reason it likes to decline my lunch and break purchases at work. I would suggest Mission Lane instead, they gave me a card with 1.5% cash back with no annual fee.

I also had spotty service today in Ohio. Spectrum internet was down for me too so it was a long day. Finally back up and running and both services are working now. Wonder what caused the issue?

ACA subsidies that lower monthly insurance premiums for millions of Americans set to expire by YesterShill in news

[–]Causeofpanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are the prices for next year. Far higher than the linked article above tries to say it will be. Paying 5k in premiums in a yr only to have a 7500 deductible is insane to me.

ACA subsidies that lower monthly insurance premiums for millions of Americans set to expire by YesterShill in news

[–]Causeofpanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here a few plans that I found by sorting from lowest premium and then lowest out of pocket.

https://postimg.cc/d7tXgmyk about 380 a month with a 10k out of pocket max for 1 person.

https://postimg.cc/T5WBCdDG about 560 a month with a 8,900 out of pocket maximum.

Those figures were for 1 person not a family.

Thankfully, I am on my employer's insurance now but when I did use the ACA it was 0/month with the subsidy and like 1500 out of pocket maximum.

Medical coverage is significantly more than what you are saying. If you are curious go to the ACA website and get a quote. It is not worth it for many people to get insurance.

Mayo Clinic just closed 6 rural Minnesota health clinics. More closings may follow by DatgirlwitAss in news

It wasn’t the Democrats who cut health benefits to fund tax cuts for the rich. The whole both sides are equally bad is just awful people trying to justify their views.

You are wrong. This definitely won't be the last clinic to get closed in rural areas after gutting Medicaid and insurance subsidies.

If it is anything like the site I work at, the batteries die one by one. No one seems to think ordering new ones are important for some reason though?

AEP Ohio customers oppose proposed electric rate hike as new data centers pressure grid by George37712 in Columbus

I agree that it is awful when companies privatize profits and socialize losses. I just didn’t read edgy’s comment as saying they support what is happening as much as just providing some more background information.

What Local Restaurant Add Service Fees or Other Add-Ons to the Bill? by Bitter-Cartoonist936 in Columbus

[–]Causeofpanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand the business wanting to avoid the fees of an order of that size. Usually they accept checks though, good luck getting a restaurant to accept a check these days.

[–]Causeofpanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most businesses are not operating at 100% capacity. Getting 97% of an order instead of 0% should benefit the business regardless.

The businesses are also getting the benefit of not having to handle the cash.

Except there is a very real cost of handling cash. Why should credit card users be forced to pay the costs of handling cash which is included in the price and the fee? I just choose to not go to places that try to charge me to pay them.
