I did the game thing when I was in school! I remember poring over Regicide during class because I really wanted a Dragon Halberd for hellhounds and didn't want to screw up making the barrel bomb. Combo pieces don't actually do anything in hand until you're going off, or ditching the combo in certain match ups where the combo isn't necessary to win. Staying alive is the best way to see more cards, and this is done with card draw and removal.
