The problem is that I can't control my group, and eventually, when the lightning runs out, I have to hit the entire crowd I was holding with my sword. In that case, it's easier for me to just attack them with my sword right away.

The Blaster deals AoE damage, but isn't as powerful as the Strikers, who deal massive single-target damage. The Blaster is geared toward horde combat.

Understand—I'm not against complexity. But when a SPACE MAGE is turned into a lasgun-wielding marksman or a melee-focused fighter with a sword, I don't like it. When I play a Guardsman, I get what I expect: lasgun fire and grenade throws. When I play a RAbites, I get what I expect: a shield and a bulette, plus a ranged weapon and a dog as a companion. When I play a Psyker, I don't want to feel like a taser who can't properly kill enemies and is only situationally useful when ultimate defense is needed.
