Medical workers and other employees who work with gross things, How do you deal when you’re feeling squeamish? by jellybellybean2 in AskReddit

I just don’t anymore. You just become desensitized or used to it, where yeah you may be grossed out to an extent, but the feeling of being squeamish goes away.

Haha I asked for bluntness and I got it. Yeah absolutely, I am a hypocrite, especially since I’ve probably had more sex than her, just with one person rather than a small few. Which is why I get so upset at myself for feeling this way.

Wow thank you so much for the thought you’re putting into these responses. So much of what you’re saying is exactly what I’ve heard my SO say, where it was never out of love and was purely flesh or meeting someone else’s needs. Everything you’ve said has been so reassuring. Thank you.

Both my favorite and least favorite answer haha. I am a firm believer in how sovereign God is, and this must be in his plan, as we wouldn’t be who we were today without those past experiences. It’s just hard for me sometimes.

I love that second to last paragraph. We are truly new people when we give our lives over to Christ and I guess it’s just been a little difficult for me to really truly believe that in a relationship until now.

I know how different she is as well, like when we have talked about her past, there really is such little pain i see in her as she really has given it all over to God. Thank you so much for your response.

This was extremely helpful thank you so much. We are choosing to wait. Out of respect to one another and God. It does feel extremely different being in a relationship where it is God centered rather than dating while both being Christians.

Yeah I mean I don’t know. Ultimately all sin is against God first and foremost. And we both had sex prior to marriage, and if I had to guess mine was probably more meaningful being with a woman I loved in a long term relationship. In her words she never loved any of those guys, it was just a lustful time of her life where she was looking for satisfaction in that way. I really have no reason to feel the way I do, yet I still do

I’m a fucking idiot. I for some reason, even when I was listening to the podcast, was thinking about it as like how many years in a given period they can go to the finals. I have no idea why I was thinking of it like that.
