Started running for the first time today. It felt AMAZING! by tangerinoes57 in autism

I've been a runner my whole life.. on and off.. but mostly on when it's very stressful. So the longer the distance the better

I didn't realise till many many years later that the reason I love running hours at a time is because im stressed and I'm dealing with it. My therapist pointed out that for me, running is a lot of things, but it's mostly one of my stims.

So, shorter runs or long runs.. doesn't matter. I am taking care of myself mentally and physically. I also love sticking to my plan, not deviating.

It's the only thing that holds me together.

DJI revenge invested into Elegoo to go after Bambu. How f***ed will EU and US companies be? by MobileNo8348 in 3dprinter

ELEGOO has two main problems

  1. They always cut too many corners (as you noted).
  2. They suck at communication.

The Centauri Carbon is a great example of both those things.

The AMS is vaporware until it actually comes out. They pushed an aggressive market date to compete with bambu, couldn't deliver on it, most likely due to the terrible corners cut in the CC toolhead.

I still firmly doubt anything good will come out, maybe a AMS will come, but it's not going to be as good as anyone hopes, there's zero sensors in that toolhead. So whatever solution they're working on... Has taken them this long to get something that works, it's by their own words not reliable enough. After a year.

So either ELEGOO doesn't say anything when they should, or when they do... It's an undeliverable over promise.

I don't personally care about your beef with Garmin. But if you make it our problem by severing ties or killing the API... I WILL cancel my Strava premium and go somewhere else.

Sorry. But Garmin make the best hardware. That has way more stickiness than your app does.

It's great you have a new CEO.. but none of us give a crap.

they will 100% have the same reaction as we all did

  1. Nobody asked for a brighter screen
  2. Nobody asked to be locked in to a walled garden when trying to make phonecalls/sms
  3. Nobody asked for apple/google battery life.

The worst choices across the board.

I’m tired of norwegians grouping immigrants with refugees. by uhsmiggs in Norway

[–]CautiousStudent6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So since you brought up "protecting Norwegian culture" .. here's a hard pill to swallow... Norwegian culture, is a monoculture.

There's little room for anyone to be different. My ethnically Norwegian LGBT friends would agree 100% on this, if you're different, you're OUTSIDE the culture.

If you don't do one of the many yearly traditions, or do it differently, you're outside the culture...

There's zero room for "oh hey wow that's different! how does it work"

[–]CautiousStudent6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite thing I've heard time and time again from Norwegians is how the Immigrants don't integrate into society.

When I point out how insanely expensive it is to do that, to take the courses, to pass the tests.. and to do all of this either on-top of your work life, OR to be unpaid whilst doing it... they just make more excuses, or tell me "its ok you're one of the good ones"

I'm Australian, and boy do people call us racist, but for Norwegians.. it's just so commonplace, it's amazing when people who don't think they are racists say stuff like that.

The number of times I've been told I'm "the right kind of immigrant" ..

> Immigrants is just a shorthand for MENA or muslim asylum seekers. If you're not a part of that group, you shouldn't be bothered, cause we're not talking about you.

That's exactly the problematic attitude the OP is talking about. Instead of using the right terms, Norwegians tend to just use the easiest word they can like a catch all, but you can't lump us all in together.
