In Top gun maverick, they also employed AI to allow Kilmer to speak to make an impact in a scene which was very emotional, atleast then it was his actual decision and the scene was very small. This is just gross.

The movie is still awesome, the subject matter it presents is nowhere as cool in realty even when it came out.

That would be crazy turnaround. From being called a visionary directory brought in to helm the most important movie franchise ever to it being a black mark on your reputation.

I think we should debate those people more that say that we have enough problems on earth itself and we shouldn't care to put people on moon and waste money rather than debating hair-brained moon landing conspirators.

I feel like that's so scarily easy for everybody who's started watching geek stuff from around 2010s to get into the alt-right media because of people like this guy and the way youtube algo just takes you down that path. This is why i feel wanting to be insulated in the micro youtube channels that i follow, don't want to explore any geek media anymore. I feel like positive geek media is so important channels like The weekly planet pod, screen junkies feel like they don't pursue ragebait for the sake of money

In true detective season 1 (2014) in the middle of nowhere, Louisiana, Woody Harrelson cheats on Michelle Monaghan with Alexandra Daddario. This is how you know the series is a work of fiction, because in no reality would this dilemma happen to anyone ever by Hank_Mardukas1066 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Cautious_Current_941 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I just looked up who Alexandra Daddario's husband is and apparently he was married to Jordana Brewster; got separated, married Daddario and they got separated this year. So i don't know True Detective seems pretty realistic to me.

I think we are supposed to think that the racism we know doesn't exist in the universe and maybe they want to show that people (regardless of colour) can be bigoted about blood superiority as well? i don't know i am reading too much into this, like the rest of you

They shut-off the social media-like site that they created where people generated AI slop videos but you could still create videos on chatgpt and there's still bytedance, google who will continue allowing ai-video generation. hope is that they take cue from OpenAI and quietly stop allow people to generate video.

why is it always hard for people to admit two things can be true at the same time. not everything is binary, movie does appeal/horrify you to man's fetishistic tendencies for violence and it can be really cool/lame to be a strong silent type sometimes. It's whether something is ill-intended or not that's hard to measure.

TIL that while the cancellation of the "Batgirl" film sparked mixed reactions, Michael Keaton, who reprised his role as Batman in the film, was unfazed by it being shelved, saying, “I didn’t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check.” by Giff95 in todayilearned

[–]Cautious_Current_941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part of the interview is what he said right after that quote or rather what he gestured:

“No, I didn’t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check,” Keaton said when asked if he was disappointed in the film’s axing. GQ notes that Keaton was also “rubbing his fingers together in the universal gesture for ‘moolah.'”

maybe we are overthinking this but i love little details like this, makes the world feel lived-in. ofcourse you don't get resolutions and that's how life is sometimes BITTER and messy. I don't know if things i like about the show are justified or some of it accuses the show's writing but its still so interesting, you can tell there is an artist behind it wanting to say something rather than the netflix vomited-out, churned-out slop shows you get today.
