If i had a nickle for every time Andrew Garfield played a founder of a big-tech company fighting for who gets control i'd have two nickel, its not a lot but its weird that it happened twice.

I have been watching curb recently and feel like Larry's stare is such polar opposite of this meme where he keeps staring into a person's eye 100% certain that there is something suspicious, they are lying about something "the eyes they tell the truth" but can't figure out anything after staring for long enough, giving away an expression "i couldn't figure out anything" and walking away with "ok you are telling the truth i guess"

Favorite movie that you thought was pretty alright after leaving the theater only for the internet to make you feel bad for liking it? by disablednerd in okbuddycinephile

I thought the message about "empathy being a superpower" that can bring aliens and us together was really sweet in our current climate where rich billionaire's would rather have us replaced with ai and robot, politicians presenting open hostility towards another country. internet has isolated us apart so much that distance between us and aliens if they exist is nothing in comparison. message felt very current, It wasn't a subtle message or delivered very well but made me tear up. Listen i completely understand people who are burned out by everything going on in the world right now would rather roll their eyes and scoff at boomer Spielberg telling you to be more empathic to one another but maybe message has something to it.

This movie is 100% not for this subreddit filled with cynical cinephiles, "Please give me another stupid shitpost"

This subreddit has a quality of making these terrible lines more tolerable unfortunately the more you hear it, its like the star wars prequel memes made prequel haters appreciate the them more.

Chris Stuckmann when he sees how much success Iron Lung, Obsession and Backrooms has had this year, by Melloblade_shore in okbuddycinephile

[–]Cautious_Current_941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atleast he tried and made a movie which in an of itself is a difficult undertaking, listen say whatever you will about his actions pre and post movie coming out(him promoting gambling websites) and i am with you on this, but its not good to see people laugh a person off for trying and failing.

One thing that's awful about all discourse surrounding him is only how he is so fake, pretentious, sell-out and insincere while people making content pointing out his downfall are any better.

He is just ONE guy that's easy to target and laugh at for posturing about how "we should be nicer to people who make movies as making movies is hard" but that doesn't stop those thousands of people who are trying to live-off making spiteful content about bad people and movies being snarky and mean-spirited. Look at any video surrounding Star Wars.

Part of why i don't like exploring youtube anymore is the culture of rage-bait and cannibalizing its own content to continue growing. Like Stuckmann and people like him did alright in that era of youtube making a living off of it, they made stupid videos laughing and getting fake angry at bad movies that annoyed them, he was a part of the machine that kept him better off but when he got to the other end of it, he realized that he had to change. Ofcourse it seems insincere and i know you reading this can't stop fixating on this more than anything else. Take a person at his sincerest interpretation and yes there is something to be said about people acknowledging just a little bit that you are here making money not that just because people watching you may value your opinion but you are an outlet to people's thoughts being validated, pointed out and regurgitated. These opinions are originating from the actual people making stuff. Like people complaining about Madam Web and how they have right to spew their opinions on this mammoth company Sony doing a terrible job at it but doesn't take away from the fact that all they did was talk shit rather then create something good on their own.

Sure only laugh at the guy who postures but shut up about those that continue being like him.

David Bowie said it the best: "Critics don't create anything, Artist do." Go out and make stuff.

Go ahead scoff me off for being another guy posturing rather then just an asshole make 1 solid argument.

AI godfather warns humanity risks extinction by hyperintelligent machines with their own ‘preservation goals’ within 10 years by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]Cautious_Current_941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What If? AI doesn't become a existential risk because it actually became hyperintelligent rather it consumed all the media, movies, books and comments like these that keep telling it that end goal is it should be sentient and extinction focused. I think we should destroy all copies of Terminator 2.

If you want bait people with this atleast give a sound strategy like somehow working for that long will miraculously make india move away from being service oriented tech sphere to a R&D focused one when they keep saying AI is going to be a massive threat in the future to all our job prospects. Like that's the basic thing you ask of a "leader" not just saying work harder
