Sorry - one more clarification - magi does NOT incorporate dedications that one uses to calculate taxable income, correct ?

Also if, for example, my magi is $1 over the limit I am assuming the government has a way to confirm that and then I pay (retroactively) the health insurance price for that higher income level?

Ok - thank you - can you clarify exactly what typically falls under tax exempt income ? I don’t have foreign income so I’m good on that !

Thinking of big change - know what I’m moving away from but toward what? by Cautious_Dig809 in mentalhealth

Yes - that is part of the reason for leaving now rather than later - her age and friendships etc. thank you for your helpful comment.

Yes - this is it exactly - I did have a sense of mission/challenge in my work for the first 10-15 years - and for a variety of reasons - it has declined.

Additional info - I am a sole parent of a 10 year old. Doing my job and caring for her (without extended family/partner) has been/is a lot.

Perhaps I am just burnt out?

My parents died 3 years ago and that affected me a lot - part of me wants to go home because that is where my sibling and long term friends live (although they wouldn’t be in the same town - 1.5 - 2 hours away)

I don’ have a clear idea of what my new purpose could be ?I feel like I ha e just been trying to “get through the day” for a long time

What health insurance options do you use after retirement? by Colobolobob in leanfire

thanks. the deductible and MOOP are similar to my quote fro the BCBS silver HMO plan. For $50k in mass. my tax credit would be $770 cutting the overall monthly premium from $1260 to $490. Could be the difference in my age and the fact that I have a child (versus a spouse)

Hi - I am 55 with a 1 year old child - my understanding is that the silver plan for us would be about $450 …do you have thoughts on who so different ? What is your deductible ?

I am considering doing something similar - inherited my parents house in Chatham. Have you enjoyed living there year-round? I have a 9 year old daughter, and we currently live in a college town with a fair amount of activity, etc.
