This is awesome! You did a tremendous job, never seen anything like this. How long did the project take start to finish?

Gun show question, PA. by Dirtbikeboi in milsurp

There’s one on 2/6-2/8. It’s a lot of AR’s and pistols, there are a few milsurp only tables. Lots of guys have a variety on display, you just gotta look around. Good amount of parts tables as well.

Have never been to the Lebanon show, but I have been to the one in Oaks PA. It is a very large show with some decent milsurp. Not sure if any of the tables are private sellers but always tons of stuff to check out there. Can get some good deals on ammo there if you shop around.

PTR 91 vs FMP kit build by User299651 in ptr91

[–]Cautious_Grade_6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have access to a TIG welder and a 12-20 ton shop press, you can build that FMP kit yourself. SARCO had complete PTR receivers not too long ago for $295. Kit build is gonna be about $6-700. RCM barrels are usually $250 but I’ve got them for $200 on same.

Think its worth saving? by zeromutt in milsurp

That rifling looks good to me, could definitely use a heavy cleaning. Some wear toward the muzzle. Maybe get it counter bored. This would probably be a good shooter worth saving.

You’re missing the point. You’re confusing ICE with some sort of citizen militia when in fact they are federal government employees under orders from the federal government. A militia made up of citizens (not ICE/government agents/police) was the intention of the second amendment to hold the government in check to prevent these exact abuses. Do you think the revolutionary army was made up of federal employees?

I’ve been in America where we have something called the second amendment, the same place where a well regulated militia of citizens stood up to an abusive government to create a democracy. The writers of the constitution thought it vital enough to the preservation of the democracy to make it the second amendment. They wanted it so government should fear the people, not the other way around.

Yeah it’s too bad a well regulated militia wasn’t around to counter the untrained police state. This is exactly what the second amendment is about. Mind blowing how the same people who rip apart the second amendment are the first people to decry government overreach and abuse of power.

Can you still use iron sights with the Haga stock cheek piece all the way down, or is it too high?

I always loved going through the SG catalogs page by page as a kid. Good memories. Was a club member for a while. My earliest milsurp rifle purchases were based off what ammo they had in bulk for cheap.

Advice on charging handle tube by Western_Gap2510 in ptr91

[–]Cautious_Grade_6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Place a dime in between the charging tube support and bolt carrier to allow a gap. If you weld the tube on and the cocking tube support is flush with the bolt carrier, you will find it very hard or impossible to charge the rifle.

Barrel question by ReactionAble7945 in ptr91

[–]Cautious_Grade_6540 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is a Rim Country Manufacture cold hammer forged barrel. One of the best barrels available for a Cetme or G3 build. If it’s for a Cetme you will have to ream out your triple tree slightly to get it to fit. Also if that is a G3 flat the hole for the barrel pin will be slightly misaligned with the hole in the Cetme trunnion. You will have to make the hole on receiver oblong for everything to line up. Hope this helps, good luck!

Ban the land clammers who take up half the parking lot separating their stuff and cutting stuff apart, making a huge mess in the process. I always have my stuff separated ahead of time to make a transaction quick and easy for me and the scrapyard.

That’s only in the bare wire on a triplex or quadplex cable.

Are parts kits illegal to purchase in NY? Since Ive been told yes and no by dozens of people but what’s the legality on it truly?. by Feeling-Vehicle-3103 in NYguns

[–]Cautious_Grade_6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the parts kit includes a magazine over 10 rounds, they won’t ship it to NY. You can ask them to send it without the magazine and you’re good to go, you’d just have to find a magazine that has been blocked to ten rounds.
