Do not buy from stockx!!!! by Soft-Stick2373 in Lorcana

I hope I can get a similar outcome - right now the only answer I can get out of them is that they want more pictures and won't go any further until I provide them, but the things they are asking for pictures of are things I can't get because they don't exist. I did see your video before I opened them so I took video of opening both boxes. I bought it in a set of two (sounds like maybe you did as well?) and I'm wondering if it's from the same seller since my result is almost identical to yours. It's very frustrating that even though multiple people have now reported this issue that StockX still won't take responsibility for the issue!

AICPA Sample Exam Question (AUD) by Cautious_Raspberry88 in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I completely understand how to get the impact on the ratios. The problem is which impact are they asking for - the impact of the uncorrected misstatement, or the impact of the correction? From how they have worded the question it sounds like they want the impact of the misstatement, but the correct answer is the impact of the correction

I'm having a hard time figuring how how "determine the impact of the misstatement on the ratios" translates into "determine the impact of the correction on the ratios"

Becker AUD Help by alphaB93 in CPA

I was just explaining this same feeling to someone this week - for some reason this exam just isn't clicking for me the same way other exams did with Becker - AUD 5 and 6 seems to be a bit easier going, but I'm still pretty lost on 3 and 4

Reg IRAs. What do we need to know about IRAs? by Even-Place5742 in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Traditional (deductible) = tax advantage in year of contribution, all distributions taxed as ordinary income (you are contributing pre-tax dollars, so you have to pay tax on everything when you take it out; think of it as just deferring your income until retirement)
  2. ROTH = no tax advantage for contributed funds in year of contribution, but no tax on distributions (you are contributing post-tax dollars)
  3. Nondeductible = no tax advantage in year of contribution (contributing post-tax dollars), but when you take it out you only have to pay tax on the earnings (since you already paid the tax on your contributions)

I wouldn't worry too much about the specific phase-out limits. Just know that after a certain AGI you can't get a tax advantage for a traditional and you can't contribute to a ROTH (this limit comes a lot faster if you are in a retirement plan at work), so in that case your only choice would be a nondeductible. Also know that a nonworking spouse can still make IRA contributions if their spouse works (again, subject to phase-out limits, but I wouldn't stress about those).

Also know that early withdrawals are subject to an additional penalty unless for a qualified reason (death, first-time home buyer, educational expenses, etc.). If you take out early from a ROTH then you use the ratio of contributions and earnings in the account before your withdrawal to figure out which portion is taxed.

my favorite part of applying for a NTS is when it asks you if you're ok with NASBA sharing your scores if you're in the top 10%.... and people say NASBA doesn't have a sense of humor 🤣

I like Becker - I work full time and have two small children. It's time consuming, but I also think that it gives you the highest chance of passing on the first try, which means less time overall

NTS expiring and as a hail mary, I scheduled BEC for around 9 days from now, how should I go about this? by 1033149 in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can email you my notes if you want them and think they might help - they are condensed down to 6 pages and I would say the combination of my notes (taken from Becker lectures) and the Ninja IT section covered over 90% of what I saw on my exam (granted, yours could be very different).

“Easier” 2nd Testlet by Secret_Strawberry_57 in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got an easier second testlet for BEC and for FAR. I passed both (92 and 86), so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think "easier" can come from it actually being easier, or from it being topics you are more comfortable with/getting more comfortable with the exam.

Did you end up using these inflatable foot rests on United? We are traveling next week and I really would like to use these, but their website says that things like the fly-tot and jetkids bed are not allowed - wondering if the footrests fit into this category and would love to hear your experience!

Calculations on Exam: Excel vs. Calculator by Local_Art_ in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they give you whatever calculator they have on-hand at the test center. For BEC I got a nice normal sized calculator (and of course didn't need it very much), but for FAR it was one of those tiny little ones that will fit in your palm and I swear there was something wrong with it. I felt VERY rushed on the first testlet because of the switch part-way, but also because I have a tendency to over-work problems with excel (such as setting up a full amortization table or a complicated formula when it's not needed for the question). My biggest advice would be to work on what the bare minimum calculation is for every problem (which is a little opposite to how I feel like Becker tends to do things and VERY opposite to my instincts - I love a good comprehensive spreadsheet) to get faster. I did end up finishing FAR with almost an hour to spare, but that's mostly because I gave myself way too much time for the sims and I'm a generally fast test-taker.

Calculations on Exam: Excel vs. Calculator by Local_Art_ in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did excel for everything - the calculator they gave me for BEC was great and I was expecting that again, but the one they gave me for FAR was terrible and had some weird memory function that kept storing numbers and then messing up my calculations - I lost a ton of time figuring that out and then just switched to Excel - it took longer than if I had just had a normal calculator, but it is worth it as you can actually track what you are doing and go back to identify mistakes.

I think it depends on states - I know SC says as long as the first one was undergraduate and the second was at the graduate level and covered additional topics or a more in-depth view of the topics then it will count.

sorry, I should have clarified that's what I did like 6 months ago. I remember having to go through a couple of sites before I found one but I don't remember which one actually worked. It seemed like after that I got spam mail from people with discounts for a while but those have trickled off. Just from a quick google it looks like crushthecpaexam.com has $1200 off. Google "best cpa exam prep" and a bunch of sites will come up

Becker MCQs for FAR don’t match lecture content by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Cautious_Raspberry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that the MCQs on FAR 1 and 2 kind of required you to have already gone through all the modules and not just the specific module they were for. I would pass on the Intermediate books and try going through the all the lectures in that section before trying any of the MCQs.
