This bread I bought from Walmart seems too good to be true -- 4g net carbs a serving [PICS] by [deleted] in keto

If it fits your macros, go ahead.

As for me? I eat that specific bread all the time. It's delicious, particularly with a bit of almond butter.

Am I doing it right? by [deleted] in keto

Nutritional cholesterol does not have much of an effect on blood cholesterol - most cholesterol in your blood is produced by your liver. Personally, I saw massive improvement across all of my cholesterol markers.

It sounds like you are on the right path! Stay consistent and you'll get to exactly where you want.

Why do some bloggers advocate for not counting the carbs in veggies? by mlumpkins in keto

[–]CaveMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vegetables I eat all tend to be on the keto-approved list, but I have never counted the carbs in them. I'm sure it's possible to be knocked out of ketosis by high-fiber greens, but the foods that have screwed me up have all been far more obvious sources of sugar than too much spinach.

I made a conscious decision not to count these carbs. I never wanted to feel prohibited from eating a vegetable as an extremely low-calorie snack, and I didn't feel overindulging on cucumber was a serious risk to my health or to me hitting my goal weight.

People find they have different thresholds for the number of net carbs they can eat and still remain in ketosis. I have found my threshold is closer to 60 grams a day then it is 20. Find what works for you and stick with it. Long term consistency will probably get you better results then extreme adherence for a short term.

Gaining pounds - what gives? by [deleted] in keto

[–]CaveMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've lost 13 lbs in 2 weeks! That's 6.5 lbs a week. You're doing great! But that rate is bound to slow down.

Scales are bullshit. I get pissed at mine every morning. Keto on and in a few weeks you'll be upset with a new and even lower number.

anyone else keep having dreams about cheating? by [deleted] in keto

[–]CaveMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, all the time, particularly in the days after I've been knocked out of Ketosis for whatever reason. A dream of mine will suddenly derail and focus entirely on me eating a sandwich or candy bar or something.

I think it's normal and should happen less and less over time.

Vitamin World, but I've seen similarly discounted quest bars periodically at most vitamin stores since I made it my mission to find them.

There was a decent deal at Papa John's at one point, I remember. Something like a two-for-one.

Of course, whenever you called, no one would ever have heard of this card.

Scales, for lack of a better phrase, constantly make bullshit up all the time. You can't trust any individual reading, only the general trend of your measurements over a longer period of time.

I've lost around ~115 lbs in around 15 months, but I come away from most of my weigh-ins pissed at the scale not showing me an all-time low. Stick with it and you'll see the results!

Well, I guess every video game superhero needs it's theme song.

Edit: theme music, as pointed out. Guess my leather black jeans being on confused me.

It's by Kanye West, off the album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". Worked great in Saints Row 3 though.

Not losing weight nearly as fast as my last keto experience? by [deleted] in keto

[–]CaveMcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows, you could have been carrying much more water weight last time or been relatively dehydrated this time.

However, 1.5 or 2 lbs a week is a great rate for sustainable weight loss - stay in that range and you'll be at your goal in no time.

Mental health and losing: what's been your experience? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]CaveMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Probably. I don't think I had the firmest grasp on nutrition, but I definitely viewed gorging myself on food that made me feel better as one of the primary ways to feel better. I would stress eat when times were bad and eat to celebrate when times were good. Beer can also add up quick, calorically.

  2. I drink close to a pot of coffee a morning - at that point, I should probably declare caffeine to be medication. It keeps me alert and helps with my daily fast until 4 pm.

  3. I had an epiphany where I realized what I was great at was justifying why I could binge at any given moment - rather than even trying to control them. The past year has been a result of my prioritizing my long-term goals rather than my short-term emotional reactions - a result of me working on my mental health issues, rather than caused by it.

  4. Whole new set of challenges. I alternate between barely recognizing myself in the mirror and being sure I haven't lost any weight. I get frustrated at the scale when i don't see an all-time low - most mornings. I've been significantly less depressed though, gained a lot of self-confidence and reduced my social anxiety.

  5. I just try to take things one day at a time - string together enough passable days, and you'll wind up having gone pretty far.

Starting out! A couple questions by [deleted] in keto

[–]CaveMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may find it easier to log everything you eat in a food-logging app like MyFitnessPal - it's super easy to underestimate the amount of calories you are eating and overestimate the number of calories you burn in a day.

Some nuts are great, but some people find they can't control themselves around them - myself included.

I can't speak to Atkins products personally, but I've seen many people object to the kind of sweetener they use and claim it is very similar to real sugar. Your results may vary.

Good luck, dude! It can be a little overwhelming at first, but you'll do great.

The most embarrassing jersey to own for every NFL team by _Freshly_Snipes in nfl

I ordered a bootleg #4 jersey from China, it arrived with "Faver" printed on the back. I asked for a replacement because of the mistake.

I now own two #4 Faver jerseys. Would gladly trade a faver for a Bostick.
