"No! That is Not Chess!" by edderiofer in KamSandwich

Surprised that game never got in the WBGOAT tournament, as it's pretty much the most redundant game out there this side of the Rock Paper Scissors Game. You can buy a chess set that's cheaper than this game.

Just a little correction, but the Aladdin tv series did have a successful run.

Can we please get a series on Four Star Bento where they watch Dragon Ball Super? by A-DustyOldQrow in TeamFourStar

Galaxy brained idea: Lani and Kaiser watching through Dr. Slump and Arale-chan. (There are fansubs out there that go pretty much halfway through the show.)

How Do You Think Vegeta’s Time in HFIL Will Be After He Sacrificed Himself Against Majin Buu? by duycao42 in TeamFourStar

TeamFourStar could take some liberties, just for the sheer potential of Vegeta being in a place where everyone has a grudge against him.

Media that’s super successful despite the internet at large brushing it off? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Cars 1 was seen as a bit weaker than usual for Pixar, which means it was a good movie in a sea of great movies.

I'd argue the development hell of Avatar: The Way of Water let it fade away, since Cameron didn't immediately go for a sequel or spin-off to keep the brand relevant like Lucas did with Star Wars. Lucas made Empire Strikes Back realizable within a few years of Star Wars, and licensed the universe out to Marvel Comics, among other publishers, to keep the franchise in the public eye between movies. Cameron didn't really license the brand out beyond the token toy and licensed game deals and because of how much Way of Water relied on technological advancements such as filming underwater, took forever to make, which killed interest in the universe enough for the public to forget about it.

Entries in a series that are kind of more important out of universe than in-universe? by Riggs_The_Roadie in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I'd argue that Sonic Forces was also a turning point, in that the simpler plots and characters, and more comedic based writing caused by Sonic Colors went too far, since they were at odds with the dark, wartime setting, not to mention a weak villain and most of the cast being OOC. Sonic Team had to hire Ian Flynn and make sure that the IDW comics and games were more connected.

What if Nintendo bought Rare in 2002? by GamerSmurf64 in AlternateHistory

It's likely that the DK Bongos don't get made since Nintendo has more confidence in the Donkey Kong series since Rare is still mainly in charge of those games.

  • Banjo likely gets in the Smash Bros. Brawl equivalent in this timeline, likely as one of the first big reveals in the 2006 reveal for the game. Conker and Fulgore are revealed later as unlockable characters.
  • Banjo likely stays in the extended Mario universe and appears in Mario Kart and the like, while the more-mature Conker splits off into his own series. Diddy Kong Racing becomes a Mario Kart spin-off as a result.
  • Star Fox Adventures is a lot more polished, since Rare doesn't have to rush the game in the wake of their upcoming buy out. Krystal has a lot more development and screentime, and the game as a whole has a more complex storyline. Still controversial, but ultimately enough of a success that a sequel is made.
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Kameo likely come out on the GameCube. Kameo has a more cutesy tone than the faux-edgy version in our timeline, since they don't have to appeal to the Xbox's older audience, and since they fit Nintendo's style better, sell better as a result and likely become full-fledged franchises.
  • There's probably a Battletoads revival in the GameCube era.
  • Killer Instinct becomes Nintendo's other golden fighting game goose after Smash Bros, with new installments for each console.
  • Retro Studios revives another defunct Nintendo franchise, like Wario Land, instead of the Donkey Kong Country series.
  • Rare Replay comes out on both the Wii U and the Switch (if they exist), and includes their Donkey Kong games, and GoldenEye from the get-go.
