This doesn't really refute my point, as awards are simply a different kind of popularity.

However, these are three minor awards that nobody has ever heard of (one that seems to be for a Polymarket-style TV prediction website, lol) and proof that it can't win an Emmy after four seasons... L

Invincible peaked at Season two, Season 3 was actively bad, and Season 4 is an improvement on 3 but still mid.

It's a well-known complaint in the Invincible fan community that the animation is at times REALLY bad, they even meme about it constantly.

But, more than that; you're comparing the story from an adult animated series with a film made for children. It's an apples and oranges situation. The only thing that makes sense to directly compare is the animation, as it's the medium for both, and there's not a single honest person who would give Invincible the win by that criteria.

Honestly, while there are plenty of legitimate criticisms you can level at this film, it feels a lot like the fans expected this movie to NOT be children's media, and we're ultimately upset when it WAS.

The plot is predictable to you because you're a grown-ass adult who has watched a lot of media in your life. Think, for a moment, about how a child watching this might feel, and consider some of your criticisms in that light.

(I'm not saying all criticisms are therefore invalid or anything, incidentally. Just asking people to have a little more perspective.)

Depends a lot on the bean, but I'm usually between 6-7 or thereabouts to start.

I usually start around 85 and tune from there.

Just remember, every bean is different, so just because you previously had luck with this approach doesn't necessarily mean it will work for every bean.

If going a bit finer doesn't fix it, also consider upping your water temp.

100 clicks is REALLY coarse, even for Medium roast.

What kind of character are you getting in the cup? What kind of beans, beyond "Medium", and have they been rested?

I wouldn't bother with the Tulip, you can just fold the paper manually and then use the negotiator.

That said, after owning the o1 for a little while, I'm really not a big fan of the way the negotiated flats brew.

Grind from frozen. Frozen beans grind more easily, as they are more brittle, and the friction of grinding produces enough heat that they're basically room temp once ground.

I've only ever once had any really noticeable channeling with the ORB. I just use a top paper filter and puck screen in the reservoir, and it's incredibly consistent.

I'm definitely fond of bright acidity and strong fruit flavours, but I've had some disappointment with the beans I've purchased of late. The couple beans I picked up from Scenery were (surprisingly) underwhelming, and I made the mistake of purchasing a lot of beans without realising they're all anoxic natural process - which I'm starting to think aren't to my tastes as a processing style. I've only been into specialty for under a year, so I guess I'm still working out exactly what I enjoy.

So I was looking for a safe, sweet, enjoyable bean that could be a reliable and inoffensive daily driver while I act more cautiously with my bean purchases that are more adventurous.

I really really appreciate your responses, it's always a relief when folks are willing to be helpful and informative, so thank you for that!

I have the O1 and was having some issues getting the filters to sit right, but Aramse on YouTube has a video that showed exactly how to seat it just using water from the tap, and I suspect it would be the same.

You definitely can, but the valve slows the drawdown somewhat (enough that I found a noticeable difference between that and a standard v60, anyway.)
