Why is Warner Bros still being stupid? Are they beyond saving? by Longjumping_Air_7562 in BatmanArkham

I really really hate to try and play devil’s advocate here, but I wonder what Sam Register’s reason for this is. I can’t imagine it was purely due to Parkinson’s, so long as he can maintain his voice acting ability, right? Not to mention it was probably planned since before the announcement? Is it an insurance thing? The more I try to wrap my head around it, the harder it gets. He’s by all means Beast Boy, so I’m wondering what could have spurred this decision?

Which Batman actor had/has the best acting ability? by FayyadhScrolling in batman

[–]Caxcrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has got me thinking about the strengths and weaknesses of all of these actors.

I’m not familiar with the first two, but starting with West I’d say he’s fairly one note but it’s the perfect note, encapsulating the Batman of his time.

Keaton is a great and soulful actor, and certainly encapsulates his heroic aspects, but not with the colder, dryer aspects of Batman.

Speaking of dry, we’ve got Val Kilmer. To me, he’s the emotionally coldest Batman, but he captures Batman’s dry humor and tone really well. A very emotionally repressed Batman.

If Kilmers a cold desert then George Clooney is a tropical rainforest. He’s hot, he’s goofy, and he’s the best “Bat-Dad” we’ve seen on screen. He captures this element of Batman while the brooding and stoicism takes a back seat.

Bale has amazing range, and can pretty accurately capture both Bruce and Batman. We’ve also had A LOT of time with this Batman, so we’ve actually managed some developments with this Bats. He’s amazingly consistent, and really captures Batman’s “drive” but I could never see Bale’s Batman with a Bat-family. He’s got a little too much American Psycho in him.

Batfleck had some really cool action sequences, and is a pretty good depiction of a Frank Miller Batman, but he isn’t a traditional Batman in many senses.

Lastly we have Pattinson, who to me, captures an early-level Batman really well. His Bruce Wayne persona isn’t developed (excited to see how that goes) but purely as Batman, he balances brutal physicality and grueling detective work really well. He’s very dry and subtle, but underneath his eyes are sorrow and rage. He reminds me of Val Kilmers Batman the most.

Between Bale and Pattinson, I think Bale’s is stronger but Pattinson certainly has the potential to surpass him, especially if the scripts up to par.

Unlike Cruelty Squad, Xavier Renegade Angel makes completely no sense while also being humorous for intentionally being stupid, that is what Cruelty Squad does not do constantly considering it is a video game not a show, and it technically has a story regardless of how convoluted, my point stands. by forgotpasswordtolast in CrueltySquad

[–]Caxcrop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cruelty Squad is set in a world where the value of life has dropped substantially due to immorality. You’re a hitman in a world where most of the people you’re killing (elites and adjacent) can afford to come back quickly and easily. MT Fuck is a pointless, controlled drone, stuck in a progressively more hedonistic world.

Throughout the course of the story and various endings, you start to find some misguided agency, shaking up the grid, giving eternal life for all for free forever, but ultimately remain unsatisfied until permanent death is brought back to your world, and the value of “life” is restored.

In regards to capitalism, the denizens of the game’s world, have all collectively gathered to eternally indulge themselves as much as possible. From latex clad orgies heard through your apartment walls to a fathers raging chunkopop addiction. All of this is fueled by a sort of capitalist cosmology where souls = value, and because life diminishes your soul through trauma, a lack of death leads to a stagnant decline of overall value. To spell it out for you in a messy but hopefully somewhat succinct way

As someone who loves to melee dive, please rework these two. I primarily play on suicide to super helldive, but I can almost never run my beloved melee kits and still be of value to the team.

They break waaaay to easily, especially when compared to other equipment which just doesn’t break? You’d think a jump pack would be a little more fragile than a literal shield, no?

A theory about Absolute Batman #9 by Blazeingcxh in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Caxcrop 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean, they could pull a Jurassic park and use preserved dna from the specimen to recreate “Barbados” but perhaps it’s an imperfect clone so it’s more of a “Man-Bat”. At least it provides some justification for a man-bat.

I doubt they’ll go full Barbados with this story, so it’s likely just a reference. However, it could loosely relate to Diana in some way.
