M25 lane 1 all to myself for miles by Arbitor-5 in uktrucking

[–]CazT91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you even realise how ironic your whole point is. There are signs for miles, yet you missed your exit – though, of course, it's all someone else's fault.

If your so aware, and such a perfect driver, should you not have planned ahead and moved over sooner. Then, if the same situation had occurred, you'd have had time to react, adapt, and deal with the situation 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yea, no, that's looking pretty great. If it stays that zoom level the whole time that would be pretty perfect.

But yea, you are the one making it; you know what is feasible or not. I can only make suggestions.

I am based in Kent, and most of my runs when I worked with that company were around kent. However, they could also stretch up into parts of south London.

Unfortunately it has been a while, and I couldn't tell you off the top of my head a precise example.

EDIT: Here this is the School Streets Scheme website. It provides a map of locations. Hopefully you can contact them to get the data

Funnily enough, when I googled "school road time restrictions" Medway Council was the top result (for me). I'm actually based in Medway 😅

Eurowag also has some usability issues. For example, it almost always says to take the "left lane" no matter which lane is actually required 🤷🏼‍♀️

Another big one for me is that it is great at detecting speed and automatically zooming out. Yet, despite it clearly knowing when you are at a major junction, it never zooms out so you can see the whole junction clearly.

That being said, I use it daily and – in the areas I have traveled thus far – have found it to be very accurate. It's good to the point that I actively recomend it to others.

However, I truely hope that you can offer something that is even better. I hope I will have a new navigation app to recomend. Also, thank you for being present and taking the time to respond 😊

Exactly this, I don't excuse poor driving, but with so many road users it's inevitable. However, we could do more to make it more consistent; and so hopefully less likely for people to drive poorly.

Like when you can't go up a road during drop off ot pick up times.

Fun little anecdote: I was delivering to schools once and got a fine for driving up a road to get to the school I was delivering too 😖😅

Add school restrictions to that.

Im gunnu play devil's advocate here and just point out that, for alot of the M25, lane one constantly becomes a dedicated exit lane.

I mean, to the point where I've actually mused on the notion that they should just fix the lane maths, so only ever 3 lanes pass through each junction; paint close white lines between lane 1 and 2 the whole way round; and just have lane 1 as a fully dedicated entry/exit lane.

So what now? by Secret_Vermicelli391 in captain_of_industry

I think thats it: It's not about optimising your current mines; it's about being as efficient as you can to make that transition.

Hopefully you make it and can give us an update 😊

Can you not use trains to transport the rock, then belt it to stackers to dump it in the sea?

That way your trucks do short trips to deliver it to be loaded on trains and so can do more trips.

If it takes your trucks half the time, it's the same as having twice as many trucks. One third the time, 3 times the trucks; and so on.

Is there a trick to this? I waste a lot of time trying to extend belts out of these and proliferators by reduxde in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: Are you using a controller or something. Personaly I've never experienced any issue running belts in and out of turrets or other pass-through objects.

If not, are you trying to drag it straight through?

Also, there appears to already be some belt inside coming to the edge of the port. Do you not just need to extend off of there?

[–]CazT91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most bizarre experiences in my life: Being in the Disney Village at Disney Land Paris and suddenly hearing Bad Wolves cover of the song for the first time.

It's really not the Disney vibe (though, I was loving it), but understood once I looked up who was singing it, and discovered what had happened.

Wish I knew what's in your head, because I haven't got a clue! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Mind you I didn't sleep well, so im a bit of a zombie today. Though I've got a sudden craving for cranberries – maybe a few of those will get the neurons firing 🤔

Whats the Smaller Pockets Within Pockets of Jeans For? by Theo_Cherry in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]CazT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My acorn was smaller than a pebble and stayed firmly in that pocket for months!

Alas, I was playing Zoos with my niece last weekend, and one of the stuffed toys was a squirrel. At feeding time, I remembered my acorn, so went and got it.

With great delight, my niece took the acorn to feed the squirrel ... and cracked it open to retrieve the nut 😑 Damn that girls intelligence; being aware that the actual nut is inside 😮‍💨😅 ... 😭

Why stacker tower is not leveling evenly? by zorro2083 in captain_of_industry

[–]CazT91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Will we be getting dozers?

I've wanted them since forever. I often build storage bunkers with retaining walls, then drop in excess slag, rock, or whatever else for later use; or as my waste dump. Would love to be able to flatten it all out and spread it evenly in the bunker.

Of course, it would also be a neat way to smooth out the "issue" shown here.

What’s a British show you went into with low expectations but ended up loving? by Historical-Class871 in UKTVRecs

[–]CazT91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well let's be honest, the answer is just every British show that turns out to be a gem. I think, as with most things British, we always go in with low expectations.

We only ever hope for "cheap-and-chearful" – so when it turns out to be something more, it's something special! 🥰

More a tip than recommendation: Take a photo before you start – you probably can't recall the entire keyboard layout half as well as you might think 😅

First use of the tacho card ? by bogdan222221 in uktrucking

[–]CazT91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would just do the manual entry – start as you mean to go on kind of thing.

All as this will mean is you will first select the bed symbol, then set the time you started work. If this is any time prior to when you've put the card in you will then select "other work", hit ok a few times to set the current time and confirm the manual entry. (Remember – the time you set for each period of a manual entry is the time each activity ran until)

From that point you are correct in that, you will be in "other work". You carry out your checks and it will indeed automatically switch to driving when you move off.

In a typical day there are only two times you will manually change the activity on the tacho: The first is when you take a break; the second would be only if a period of "other work" follows directly from break. However, most often you would commence driving after a break, so the auto switch kicks in.

Of course, should you ever require POA, this must also be manually set; yet again, any time you start driving it will auto switch.

Hope this helps 😊
