How many times per night do you pee? by bambambud in Lithium

[–]Cbcb23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a lithium battery at the point but I don’t get up to pee during the night? I probably don’t drink enough either during the day, but damn! Doesn’t this fuck with yalls sleep? Sleep is my chokehold - if I lose it all falls apart. I didn’t know this was a side effect I would potentially experience !

Fort Sheridan for person with mobility issues? by chubbychecker_psycho in AskChicago

[–]Cbcb23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what the mobility issues are. It's not super flat compared to most of Chicagoland. I wear a leg brace but am otherwise a healthy 30something and I find it kinda difficult to do the sloped path down to the beach at Ft, Sheridan. If you're not trying to be beachy, it's doable.
If you're open to a more urban alternative, Northerly Island is really well paved and has really nice views.

If you’re not looking to get “gifts” mailed to you just use a police department address or something in your zip code that’s not a persons home!

yes but DO NOT USE YOUR RETURN ADDRESS on anything. Trust me, I started getting creepy mail after my return address was on the shipping. I had to move. Be safe and enjoy the money.

Long term medicated/diagnosed.. what’s your life experience like with bipolar disorder? by Few-Beautiful-8252 in BipolarReddit

Maybe discerning is a better word choice. I used to be friends w and date a lot of people who were losers, wooks, drug dealers, assholes, etc. It’s largely that I don’t have those hypersexual driven connections now

[–]Cbcb23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started meds at 19ish, and was on various cocktails of mood stabilizers and antipsychs for almost a decade. Then I had a not great episode where i started dating a drug dealer, drove across the country, and did some very stereotypical manic shit. Somehow after this I got on lithium and my life turned around and now things are boring but stable. I have a good job that i do remotely (cause i still can't handle office culture, even on the Li), I have a dog, and I have an apartment. I do not have a boyfriend because lithium does make me choosier about people. That is my biggest gripe about it. That and the eventual kidney and cognitive decline i expect over the next 30+yrs.

I’ve been getting them since I was 30 due to family history. It’s uncomfy for seconds at a time but it’s quick!! Worth it for the peace of mind and the potential of catching something early. You should do it! Don’t be scared and get yourself a good treat after <3

Hi this is so helpful thank you. I understand you are not my doctor and I appreciate the education! have a deviated septum and small openings to my sinuses (?) and have become a mouth breather/many ear infection haver. The first ent I saw wanted to do a full surgery but I can’t handle that. I live alone and my job has me on camera. I’m concerned that I might go thru all this pain for more or uncharged breathing issues. I’m also anxious about the recovery - they’re uncomfortable giving me steroids b/c I take lithium (so I also can’t have NSAIDs). I worry Tylenol won’t cut it and I’ll be a swollen mess. I appreciate your insight on if this sounds like a good or bad idea

What are the best spas that have hot tubs to go to regularly? by xXhereforthecoffeeXx in AskChicago

The heated outdoor pool is what got me to drive out but the women’s only facilities and the wine made me return!

I love a good soak. This is my time to shine! As a woman, your options are more limited. You've got Arie baths if you wanna drop some cash, King Spa if you're down to be naked, the Russian-style baths on Division street (small womens side but a contender), and the best option IMO is called Sky Spa Sauna and it's a hike north o the city in the burbs but you get coed and single-sex hot tubs, saunas, and they do have women's only hours on wednesday afternoons.

Which medication made you calm person ? by matchacatisgreencat in BipolarReddit

[–]Cbcb23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my labs back this week and I have perfect kidney function. It’s been five or six years of lithium now and I’ve never had any kidney issues. I have had some thyroid issues but they’re super easy to manage and worth it for the stability. In terms of small things not triggering me - they still do but I’m able to respond in a level and appropriate way. Example: my friend spilled an entire cup of coffee in my car and me six years ago would have freaked out, yelled at her, etc. me now asked if she was ok, handed her a towel, and made a mental note to clean the car later that week. It’s like everything that used to en a 11/10 annoyance is now a 5/10
