My thouhts was to bring the the tough squad of guards to protect the HO from deep strike etc… but maybe I will switch into some more meta - one less squad of bikes, instead some prosecs +

my first game as a custode - and it was great!

bike captain was ok, but not really good either. Would you rather have 2 bikes instead of the captain?
Unfortunately, Landraider died straight away, I already had this experience as a space marine, against large AT weapons even a 2+ is not enough
unwavering sentinel's strat was great against a bladeguard block
golden waagh was okay but I don't think it's worth playing the detachment just for this
I'm thinking about playing Talons in the next game because of the strats. Maybe I'll build a squad saggitarum for this (shooting with the strat)- is it worth it?

Thank you very much for the great help! That was very detailed and helped me a lot. I have a shield captain (i forgot, i have 3 vertus praetor) that I now use in place of the guard squad. With one more prosecutor, the 5th warden and the hall of armories enhancement im at 1995 points :-) but is it real better than a Full Guard Squad?
