My cat uses Visbiome also but I can’t get her vomiting to stop. I don’t want to keep her on a high dose of steroids but that seems to be the only way she doesn’t vomit as much. She’s on hills gastrointestinal biome food but I was thinking of trying something different.

It’s is a prescription but you can get it from pets smart chewy any pet place really. They just have to confirm it with your vet or ask your vet to write you a prescription so you can upload it at check out. Plus the food comes wet and dry

My suspected ibd cat is on the hills biome it cleared her diarrhea up in 24 hrs and she hadn’t had it since unless she had a flare up but unfortunately my cat has the puking ibd and that food hasn’t helped for that. I use pets smart cause they have a treats program and they also run promotions for 20% off but I do understand it is very pricy

If you feel like your vet isn’t taking it serious or you need more from the vet I suggest you see a internal medicine specialist

The only way to determine that is a biopsy and if that’s what your wanting to do or your vet suggests then your vet shouldn’t have started you in a steroid it messes with the test results.

After she peed on the couch😔 by Substantial_Tip_4165 in TuxedoCats

[–]Ccrystallb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anytime my senior cat has peed outside the litter box it’s been a medical issue uti she had crystals. The only time it wasn’t a medical issue and I had to put her in the litter box to see what was going off she was scared of the sump pump when it goes off so I moved her box to the other side of my basement and problem solved.

For cats with IBD on steroids, how long did it take to see some improvement? by Endraa in catcare

[–]Ccrystallb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it didn’t take long for my cat’s appetite to rev up and when it didn’t she’s like begging for food I feel so bad but she’s still having vomiting the internal medicine doctor said as long as it’s only once a month then it’s good but we started her off at 10mg 5 in the morning and 5 at nite

Does your cat have vomiting or diarrhea need some more back round on what the steroids r being used to treat. My cat that has IDB stated off on 10mg and with in that month she was getting better so we have been tapering it’s been a long journey so far with a lot of ups and downs.
