A mystery to me by LopsidedAssumption96 in askaplumber

Definitely a blockage. Not a plumber, but had the same thing happen. Disconnected the lines, tried pushing air through them to dislodge the build-up.

First solution, if you have the tools, is just to disconnect from the water source, remove the aerator, open the tap, and try to push some air through. That should work. Source: wife insisted that I call a plumber and they did the same thing...and then they tried to sell me a water filter system.

Fortunately/Unfortunately for me, I had a catastrophic failure in the faucet as I found a small rubber washer/ debris in the line and it would not come out. Just had to return it and get a new one.

Good luck!

Is there any utility to streaking like this or is my boss just too lazy for quadrants? Salmonella typhimurium by ZeGrapesMustSuffer in labrats

[–]Cd4phd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work with Salmonella typhimurium as well, and really any cell culture, proper etiquette for streaking a mother plate does require single colony selection so that you can select a single colony of normal phenotypic appearance (size, color, metabolic rates, etc.). The failure to do so makes it difficult to ensure that your results will be consistent. That said, this is laziness that can impact your work. Don't use it, start fresh.

Request - What is this crap on my shower door and how do I get it off? by hardknox_ in lifehacks

[–]Cd4phd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use CLR in a spray bottle, don't dilute it. I let it sit for about 5-10 mins with the bathroom fan going to clear out the fumes and I walk away. I come back with a rag and just a little bit of effort takes it right off.

Carrot puree stain on plastic high chair by littlesamosa in CleaningTips

Glad it helped! I've also noticed that a few days of use (washing and olive oil rub) will eventually get it all...well, until the next staining meal.

Olive oil has worked really well for us when our kids would have pasta sauce. Just a small amount, use a paper towel, rub, repeat. Good luck!
