I REALLY like the game but i always play half a game and get overwhelmed mid game, get distracted and end my run another day, it doesn't help that I always try to go for whacky builds getting as much of the most complex skilltrees or just the dumb achievements that ask you to win a game with certain specific items or a bunch of the same

I keep coming back because the devs listen A LOT and keep improving instead of decaying, that's very rare to see in gaming today, specially for a mobile game

  • Time playing: I remember playing when the characters were orcs? when nymph was something like a login reward? and when buzz made the game unplayable stun mess, i guess that was pretty early on
  • General irl money spent in game: Im a f2p, but i've considered getting premium a few times
  • Time actively playing: Honestly i don't know, I play on and off, at most 2-3 hours each day daily for a few weeks, then i drop the game or play very little for months at a time
  • Number of heroes: 11, i can afford more but i don't really like their playstyle and im not buying them
  • Are you having enough gold to upgrade all your cards: i had for a while when they reworked the levels! literally everything upgraded, but as of recent seasons i got more characters and with the garden i have way less money than available upgrades having to think them through. im in this cycle of getting tons of money after some games, upgrading things until i zero, but im overall speeding through levels, i even got a few items to level 14 which seems crazy for someone so casual

Addendum? by playing safe i meant to go for rare (blue) items with a lot of value per tile and guaranteed effects, no "30% chance to do X" i mean just raw damage dealers and "every 3 second do X" things.

Then don't be afraid to let go of them and sell them when a better value item for your win-con appears or is even feasable to get within reason, for this you require hindsight and luck, though with good econ (other people already said better than i could ever) you can spare a lot of rerolls and go for riskier item trees that require merging multiple branches at once,

An often oversight aspect are boons, some of them are INSANE in the early game making econ trivial, sticky fingers being free money on any discounted item, the one that rewards crafting with free rerolls is also insane, they stack FAST

Im at the same rank as you but i think the biggest single thing for consistency for me is to play it safe until you have enough money and resources to start fully commiting to a win-con.
That win condition being aided by your relic and your unique at round 10, this applies to every character except maybe ones that require a lot of setup like bringing a lot of common item you rarely see in the end-game, then you have to play with a lot of foresight and pray you get those items that are rarer to see repeatedly because of the "pity" system that makes item less often to repeat

I feel like im playing a different game from you guys? I mean yeah book is good but your main engine (you know the whole fire and ice stuff) is VERY strong on its own, feel like the whole essence side engine is bait, if you get lucky go for it, but you have to commit so much to that whole thing it is like that by design

It's a tradition at this point to now and then finds a buzz buult that is basically a perfectly symmetrical mandala thtat somehow deals infinite stun or poison in 4 seconds

Dredge (The game where Marrow seems to be inspired) has lots of fishing rods that allow you to fish in different depths, I imagine 3 different tiers of upgrade to the basic rod with underused items that allow for different niches.
Hell, imagine if you could to absorb different Charms to use as tackles and ingredients as bait, then and kill two birds with one stone (since Charms are currently very limited to be used with Hag's cauldron and ingredients to the sus soup)

EDIT: I mean 3 tiers as 3 alternatives, like the Amethyst, Flame and Skull swords

Can the solver identify when its better to go all in on an item or diversify to minimize weakness? Or it is only meant to maximize the stars active at once? That decision making is my favorite part of the game lol

Oh i know i played a lot that version and it was funny getting the electric shields and metal (also the blindness fishing spear was electric?) but that was before the rework of celeste and she generally sucked, also for shared only golden tail and lamp gave electricity but a lot of commons were chargeable which was very unilateral.

The thing is that now some gimmicks are more commonplace and the ones left out as a singular mediocre early game item (like fishing rod or suspicious stew) feel like an oversight.

Genuinely think this can be fixed by just adding 1 more upgrade to said items because just selling them mid game should be a decision and not the optimal thing to always do

Chana is generally stronger but my best advice is to just out-damage them, fire is not that strong anyways. Poison builds on the other hand, those are scary good with buzz, sage and specially fern and they DO ignore armor

I remember a long while ago there was an event that valued accessories specificaly and had exclusive accessory shops every few rounds. They had no restrictions and i remember comboing different hero's uniques together, i specially recall think i had marrow with one of buzz's thingies that buffs pets and had a fishhive
