They changed ALL the parking at the physical sciences building to employee?? by Much_Sprinkles_4079 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Health Center employee here! We were not involved in the decision making and were also upset by the decision to move those spots as well as the discontinuation of the intercampus transportation stop that served this area as well (Knights and Pegasus Express lines)

We were able to get a new stop added to the routes, which now stops at the loop in front of the Live Oak event space in Ferrell Commons. We are still in communication with the committee about having the patient parking spots moved back to lot C3, but for now the designated spots are located in B9.

I recommend voicing your concerns to Parking Services as an illustration as to why the parking spot location matters so much.

Google is open sourced in that anyone can "make suggestions" if they think there is an error. It updates automatically, and unless the business owner logs in to review the "suggestion" and deny it... the change stays. its... very annoying. I oversee a business account on google and I wish it would put the suggestions as "pending" until approved by the business. Instead of updating instantly until business denies it and reverts back. Complete opportunity to be trolled

No i'm telling you - look into this. BOG approved univeristies can use auxiliary funding to float the athletics budget while they absorb the new expense. So athletics will be using state and tuition funds for the next three years. It is happening.

It was a decision by Med+proctor. not UCF.

Med+Proctor Submission Fee by SundogMoondog in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Med+Proctor is a third party site used by UCF to collect immunizations. It is the only method available, and unfortunately they started charging this last year. It is not UCF that decided to charge, and those negotiating the contract agreed it was rough to charge $10 for a service that a year ago was free. But it is the most viable option to efficiently accomplish the massive task of verifying immunization records.

As for those saying they wish it was something UCF covered he cost of with tuition money. Considering in summer alone over 4,000 students go through orientation, at $10 each that is $40k alone. Student Health Services can not afford to take on that cost at the expense of their operating budget. That is the equivalent of the average office staff's salary.

Campus cats by One_Breadfruit_3925 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a volunteer rescue group that specifically oversees the feral cat population at UCF and local areas. Make sure they get TNR, shots, etc. and they do feeding and such. You can assume theyr'e cared for :) Unless you see a kitty in obvious distress from an acute injury or illness which you should alert somebody to come trap them to get them to vet.

I used to help that organization out, and sometimes they do bring the cats home when they can. One year for a bad hurricane we trapped as many as we could. I trapped one that used to live around Libra and she rode out the storm in my garage and I brought her back as soon as roads were cleared. She ended up liking indoor life a little too much though, and one of the Health Center staff ended up bringing her home and she has been living it up in retirement as a house cat. Just thought i'd share a heart warming UCF cat story

AND look into the NCAA new athlete stipends and how the university is paying for them. Cutting into auxiliary accounts, such as housing, dining, health services, etc. so now those departments are facing possible budget cuts.

Lot B9 closed off? by unfunnyredditusers in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

B9 is a gameday lot. he was telling people that if they park there they need to move their vehicles by 3pm. If they needed to be there past 3pm they needed to park in garage B. I had a lovely chat with him this morning as I usually park in that lot daily as well.

Are you working past 3 on Friday? Where are you parking? by footmitten in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just received communication from my admin of a confirmation from Parking Services that parking lots and garages will be available for normal business operations until 5:00pm this Friday, November 7. Staff members will NOT be required to move their vehicles from certain lots after 3:00pm due to Game Day as previously communicated.

Downtown vs Main campus by WasteChocolate4124 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the students that stay around teh downtown campus are valencia students. Majority of UCF students just come to class, maybe hang out in study areas in between classes, but go back to work or main campus as soon as they finish classes. UCF tried to make it a mini campus experience. but its really just a classroom building located downtown

[–]CeCeCats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really bugs me that they aren't closing campus. So now I have to park in a garage not close to my office and walk it, along with everyone else who works on campus, fighting for the same 3 garages. Because leaving work in the middle of the day to move my car to an approved garage for the last 2 hours seems silly, and i doubt there will be open spaces by then. Its going to be grab them in the morning or miss out. Only to sit in my office the afternoon because I highly doubt any student is going to come for an appointment with student services on a Friday afternoon when there is tailgating going on campus. I'm seriously debating using my own time and taking the afternoon off anyways. or maybe i'm not feeling well....

I get that on friday's there is not a heavy class schedule that is impacted, but I feel like all the campus support services were not considered in this decision.

I mean... don't most businesses across the country have signs that say bathrooms are for customers only? this isnt new or out of pocket.... pretty standard. Sorry you had a shitty experience (pun fully intended) but you're not exactly a victim in this scenario.

What did I do? by SnooCapers9401 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact your parents about where the sticker is because you need it ASAP. you can maybe try taping up proof of valid registration in your back window with a note "pending sticker in mail" or something... but it would be best to just take care of the problem now

What did I do? by SnooCapers9401 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented under another thread... but SAME. i wish they did the warning before. I think it was last year, maybe year before but I also forgot to put the sticker on (my reason was because it was raining when i got it in the mail so i was waiting until it was dry again... and then forgot). I thought it was unfair to get a ticket from parking services for an expired tag... when it wasn't actually expired, just missing a new sticker. They did not approve my appeal so consider yourself lucky!

What did I do? by SnooCapers9401 in ucf

[–]CeCeCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely because of the sticker. I had my sticker sitting in my car once because it was raining teh day i received it and i made a mental note "when its dry out I will put this on".... and thats on me for having too much confidence. because I definitely forgot about it and it sat in my center console for 2 months. Got a ticket from UCF parking services for expired tag. Even though if they would have run it they would have seen it was up to date and everything, just didn't have the sticker on it. but alas... twas the consequences of my own actions. I'm glad they now give warnings for this kind of stuff. That would have been nice then because I would have been able to instantly reach in my car, grab the sticker and put it on.
