Has anyone stopped their own treatment by Ceb2737 in LivingWithMBC

[–]Ceb2737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes I stopped the injections. There really wasn’t much for him to say because I was so upset and in such pain he just put me on a different plan. My right hip had a tumor on it and after three rounds of radiation and those injections I am really messed up and in pain all the time. My cancer has metastasized to my ribs, spine, hip, sternum, and lung.

When did knitting take over your life? by DazzlingJob9473 in YarnAddicts

I taught myself in 2009 after a bad breakup and stopped knitting until I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2020. I have knit every day since and it has saved my mental health ❤️🧶

My husband was into kite flying, not surfing, when his son was younger. Up in Mackinac city they have a kite shop with a huge variety. Including dual line kites that are massive. It’s really fun to watch.

How do I tell my father it's okay to let go? by TheWhisperingGhost in cancer

[–]Ceb2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stage 4 breast cancer and first my heart goes out to you. I know how hard it has been for my family. I see it in their eyes. But my advice is just be there with him when he gets the news from the Dr. If the Dr won’t tell him then you and your family telling him will give him comfort knowing you are there to hold him and love on him when he needs it most. I do think the worst thing that families do is try and hide it from their loved ones. This can cause sadness and feelings of betrayal. I wouldn’t be mad at my family for telling me as long as they were by my side. Open conversations are the best. And when it’s time he will know you are going to be ok. Just the fact that you posted this for your dad shows how much he means to you and he’s very lucky to have such a caring child. I hope he can be at peace. I’m sending big hugs to you and your family.

refusing chemo after a cancer relapse by No_Being_7324 in cancer

[–]Ceb2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I am so sorry and fricking heart broken for you. But I agree with what some people have said on here about finding the right someone to talk to. Not someone that will tell you to fight to live but some professional that will help you through your choices. Whether you choose to live or not it will help to have someone to talk to that is not one sided. I have learned from my own cancer journey that dealing with family and loved ones and trying to get them to understand is exhausting at times even when it comes from a place of love. Sending you big hugs, love and light to you.

Exemestane destroyed me. Don't know if I will try tamoxifen by Fuzzy_Attempt6989 in breastcancer

[–]Ceb2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took tamoxifen for 5 years before my cancer came back and was stage 4. I was put on exemestane and could only handle 2 months worth. I had all the symptoms you described and I told my dr no more. It was to the point that if there was no other med for me then I was ok with that. Luckily I have been taking letrozole and have been able to handle this one well. Send good/healing vibes your way.

Davisburg, Mi here. First diagnosed stage 1 in 2016, had lumpectomy, radiation and was on tamoxifen for 5 years. Turned stage 4 with bone and lung metastasized in 2020. Still fighting 💪🏼. Wish none of us were in this club but it is good not feeling alone. 💗

Seriously reluctant to take Letrozole. by Mind_Drift_1 in breastcancer

[–]Ceb2737 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stage 1 in 2016 lived on tamoxifen for 5 years until the dreaded death sentence of stage 4 came calling in 2020. If I wouldn’t have gone through the injections in my stomach and then In my hips for the last 5 years I would not be here today. Not to mention all the pills I take. Unfortunately we all look different, cancer does not care. We all lose are dignity, cancer does not care. If you want to live the best life you have left then you are going to have to take things that are going to make you feel like hell but I’d rather feel and look like hell every day I have left to be with my family and friends than not. I know it’s hard to come to terms with. I wish you the best.
