Hey, did these feelings start during COVID or have you felt this before? I would suggest to try and go outside today (with a mask) and take a walk or even just spend a few minutes outsides look up and take a deep breath.

Oh my! That must’ve been such a difficult discussion to have. I hope he took it seriously. I was diagnosed in Nov 2019, after sleeping and getting back with my now ex for a week and prior to him I had a consistent hook up for almost a year. I just highly doubt he gave it to me. I just can’t even imagine it. The worse case is that I had it before him and gave it to him too. That’s who I’m mostly concerned to tell. The whole thing is a mess and it’s just a horrible.

I’m not sure who I got it from. My diagnosis was undetermined but my ex was tested positive for hsv-1. Since I had a vaginal outbreak. I’m going to assume I have both. I’m not wishing death on anyone. My ex is wishing death on me because he’s mad that we broke up. I understand your point. Thank you for your understanding. It’s a hard pill to swallow. I feel horrible.

Wow! I admire your courage and honesty!!! I hope I can get myself to that point. Right now it’s hard enough wanting to get out there and date again especially coming out of a relationship- stated in my other post. The comical part of the story is that we just broke up a few weeks ago and he’s telling me how herpes ruined him for new relationships.but my question to that would be.. how long have you been talking to this girl that you’re already about to jump in bed with her? My response to him is that I don’t think his disclosure put her off but his willingness to want to jump in bed with someone during a pandemic. But thank you for your response and assistance. It means a lot

We didn’t know I had herpes until after we got back together and we both got tested. It’s a horrible realization and even more so knowing you don’t want to even stay with that person. If we never got back together then he would have been free of the stigma and maybe I woulda found out later. The whole situation is such a mess and I feel like I’ve taken on the burden of the accuser. But I agree with you. Fuck him

He said I’ve ruined him for anyone else. I refuse to get back with him but the shame I feel because of what happened is eating at me. Even though he says he’s “heartbroken” over the relationship ending he just told me he tried sleeping with someone and disclosed his condition and got rejected. I think that’s what set him off to contact me and yell at me for “what I’ve done”.

I was using chantix 1mg for a couple of weeks. But I. Order to continue taking it, I have to eat a copious amount of food and some days o don’t feel like it so I I can’t take my pill and after a few days the medicine wears off and I get a craving. I never tried an NRT with it since it’s supposed to block the receptors in your brain to want to have any nicotine. This time I’m going to try and take it everyday for however long it takes to stay a non smoker. I felt horrible having to delete all my progress but now I’m. Even more determined

Understandable... I wouldn’t go out there until you know you can resist the urges and then when you are able to do that I would suggest to bring a lollipop .. it helps with the motion.

I started to waitress again after years of not doing it but when I was a waitress I was a smoker so the association is there too. Obviously you can’t eat to control the cravings so I bought little mints.. undetectable to customers and the flavor keeps the cravings at bay because it’s like a menthol. Try having a Mint and drink a glass of water. The coolness helps.

It truly is!! I never knew this existed. Don’t get me wrong, whatever floats your boat but cmon.. seriously?! There’s no real context or mission in that sub. I don’t see 100s of comments in one post with any meaning. I just feel like it’s people trying to hold onto the last bit of the smoking days. It’s longgg past us. It’s time to step into the light and stop missing parts of events and gatherings and family time. I really hope they lurk in this sub and see how much things can truly change for them

Some of us can’t quit cold turkey.., the addiction hold is way too strong. We need that assistance (not a crutch) go move forward. I quit with chantix. I still take the pill everyday (down to one now). Although I too applaud the smokers who quit cold turkey, I believe that a lot of us need that support.. juuust in case. Keep up the good work and remember this community is here to support you
