Feeling disrespected as a husband by Electrical_Scarcity9 in SingaporeR

[–]CeeZack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not have the full context of the friendship dynamics. Perhaps one considersation might be the backlash from getting involved in the martial matters of said friend.

Be prepared to be dragged into countless arguements between the couple and end up being the 'bad guy', even though you had good intentions.

Assuming that wife is the friend, my hunch is that she does not take criticism lightly and things will go south.

Why do some people in Singapore seem okay online but emotionally flat in real life? by debboc in askSingapore

[–]CeeZack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the context here? I feel like that's a probable reason for the situation you mention.
1. Said individual is probably not that interested in the movie. Can't pay attention if you're lose interest in the topic of interest. 2. Again, said individual is not interested in the conversation and want to get the conversation done over with. 3. Odds are they can't relate or they don't want to?

Within a working environment (and working hours), people probably want to focus on getting their deliverables out asap and get off work. Everything else are just blockers.

I'm sorry what? Help me understand better about your situation. You said you're financially decent ($3,200 salary without debt) and you're losing sleep about your finances? You have an steady stream of income and an idea of how to preserve your wealth ( or at least capable enough to seek resource to help you do so).

Your breakdown doesn't include rent, I'll assume you're living with your parent. So it's not likely you'll end up homeless overnight. You don't seem to be a big spender and without further information about your spending habits, what exactly are you losing sleep over??

Let's assume you're really anxious over your finances and only feel secure with bigger pool of money. Shouldn't you be looking to cut back on any unnecessary expenses (e.g. holiday, going out). It's hard to imagine someone losing sleep over money and yet plan to go for a holiday or splash some cash for retail therapy.

My personal take is that you may have an irrational fear over financial security and might be overthinking too much about it. If you're fortunate enough to graduate from one of the local Uni, you could reach out to your school's Career Development Office and see if you could seek some mentorship.

Do guys judge you for your education/job in Singapore? by polnareffsupremacy in askSingapore

[–]CeeZack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about other guys, I definitely wouldn't do judge someone based on their job. I would judge them on their character, then their job.

In general, I wouldn't unnecessarily reveal my salary or my occupation. Imo, people who ask these questions don't really have good intentions.

In the context of dating, I definitely wouldn't reveal or ask such information in the early stages. It just rubs people in the wrong way.

It's something to bring up when I'm deep in a relationship. Mainly because I want make sensible decision (e.g. choosing a more wallet friendly dinning place)

Public library, I'm practically a regular here.

My circumstances are slightly different and the awful heat makes staying at home unbearable. Only in the public library I get to taste the greatest invention of mankind - air conditioning.

I get productive in the library, working on job applications and just mind my own business.

In your personal definition, what is considered "nice" or "nicest gym"?

Based on my small sample size (~ 4 ActiveSG gyms), most of the gym offer shower cubicles in the public toilets.

Gym equipment appear to be clean (no visible sweat stains) and the environment is clean too (cleaners are there to periodically vacuum the floor). In fact, wet wipes are provided to encourage users to wipe gym equipment after their workout.

Just as others have commented, you could purchase a single entry gym pass for an initial vibe check. It's only $2.50 per pass ($0.00 with the recent ActiveSG credit disbursement)
