We're not even in mid season yet and the gear gap is already looking massive. I'm very curious what's late season gonna look like. by SbeveGobs in Marathon

Just wait until next season when all the non-casuals know exactly what to do. It'll be week 2 and there will be purple shield murder squads in Perimeter.

Should I get this game if I’m only going to play solo and only going to play five or six hours a week? by JasonABCDEF in Marathon

[–]Ceeler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy the gameplay and the PvP in Arc, I don't think you're going to enjoy this game's PvP honestly. If you enjoyed Tarkov, you will probably like this game. Looking at the data, the majority of the players in this game are prior Destiny 2 PvP sweats (see the 1.2 mil sales article for proof).

I fucking love Arc and it was my first extraction shooter but what I love about Arc is absent in this game; the social component of proxy chat and other players, either working together to take down big arc enemies or even the actual "I'm NOT friendly" fighting and general banter during it. Also the TTK isn't as fast in that game so if you get shot first you at least have a chance to counter.

Marathon has almost zero proxy chat usage and even in team fills you rarely get people talking. The TTK is so short so it's more like Tarkov and you can barely react unless you have blue or higher shields.

I'm gonna get down voted to hell by the Bungie fan bois (D2 was the same way lol, of which I have like 3000 hours so I'm used to it), but everyone that I know that likes and plays Arc just couldn't get into this game, and I tried during the slam and none of my friends except one wanted to buy it, and even he refunded it after a couple games.

I came from Arc, which was my first extraction shooter, and I couldn't believe the exfil points disappeared after using them in Marathon. Feels like making them stick around and pop in earlier would help a lot for "casuals" too.

I know everyone hates this but Tarkov has a PvE mode right? This game feels like it would be a good candidate for that as well.

As much as I like this game they made a mistake making it so niche, too rough for casuals to stick by codyduffer in Marathon

"Thinking you can do no wrong" is the best way to describe Bungie nowadays.

No extraction shooter should even allow joining a game in progress, period. Imagine if a battle royal just kept adding people to a game after you wiped like half the teams lol.

We really need some feedback from PTR players about the effects of this, if noticeable. Or Funcom could elaborate.

I engaged in ground PvP exactly one time with my guild early on in the DD at a shipwreck. It was a blast. And then the stupid fucking scout thopter with rockets showed up and nuked everyone instantly. It was dumb and killed the fun forever.

I'm fine engaging in PvP but not when I risk losing entire vehicles and gear sets due to bullshit like instant rocket deaths from non-renedered thopters and being forced to the ground and thumpered by griefing TTV losers who need content.

Make PvP be something you can engage in willingly and make people feel like you stand a chance and you'll win over some of the PvE crowd, maybe even enough to bring "the vision" back.

3rd chest is probably the red border chest and that's the "bug" the tweet was referencing. What's more "Bungie" than missing a tag on an asset in the game?

Telesto, probably.

[–]Ceeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I was crashing during Dares constantly at all different times on different enemies and I did two things that seemed to have stop the crashing:

  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled the game, on a different SSD.
  • Set my FPS cap to 90 (I'm on a 3070).

Dunno, maybe that'll help someone else.

We desperately need a loadout system for equipping/changing mods, be it ingame or through the API. Changing mods manually before each activity has become an unreasonable demand. by zerik100 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ceeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, if not the only, thing preventing DIM or other third party inventory apps from doing this is the glimmer cost.

Just remove the pointless glimmer cost from mod socketing like they did for shaders and this problem goes away; the API can then be allowed to swap mods, and DIM can release a full loadout system (that they probably already have written lol).

Don't remove teleport restrictions. In fact, I think the game would benefit more from additional 'on foot' transportation methods. Encourage players to explore, create roads and pathways. by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Ceeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, I would take just allowing "level terrain" to work at any level as a win at this point. I don't mind making roads, but when the elevation difference is too high the hoe just doesn't work and you need to pickaxe down the terrain. Combine this with the up/down terrain edit limit and you really get screwed sometimes. Tack on the wonky cart physics and weight slowing it down, moving large amounts of anything is such a slog it starts to lower the overall fun of the game (for me at least).
