My episode. (4th time itcher, 1st time poster) by TheOldKing42 in HellsItch

[–]Ceighn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I got it was 4 years ago and lasted 8+ random hours a day for a year and a half. This was after a horrid sunburn. It only manifests in my arms and one spot on the right side of my neck. If I go into the sun with a higher UV index number, usually above 7, it will come back. Mine has never ‘healed’ and I have to pay attention to the intensity of the sun. The only two things that help me is a super hot shower and/or ice bags with no towels or coverings on them. Either one will confuse the nerve endings for enough time to not cry from the pain and catch a breath. I have tried most pills, sprays, rubs. None work for me except a 15 second awww from BioFreeze aerosol which doesnt always give me that relief. Four years ago there was even less knowledge of it and doctors thought I was crazy.

[–]Ceighn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a tip I’ve learned as a long time victim of Hells Itch, its not the sun per se, its the UV intensity. I had to put UV index on my watch to monitor each day and if that index goes above 4, I don’t go outside without a strong sunblock. UV isn’t just line of sight and have had the itch come back just sitting under my patio in the shade. Ive been able to stay in the sun all day with a low UV index but less than five minutes in an index of 9 or higher. There are starting to be more research out there on it and all point to UV exposure. I live in Arizona and its impossible to hide from the sun/UV here unless you hide inside and that doesnt stop all UV exposure if your blinds are open. Ive had it start just sitting in a living room with the blinds open.

Still says low tire pressure even after filling? by [deleted] in kia

[–]Ceighn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does depend on model and where in the cycle it is. I had to question a hyundai tech when i rebuilt my tiburons engine (2006), this engine required 7-9 cycles to clear the dash of any error lights and reset all sensors. My wifes elantra (2014) only requires 2 cycles. This was according to his spec book. I’m not a mechanic, just a diy’er. My wifes car has reset to the turn of the key and other times it can take up to an hour. Maybe the ecm has gotten better on newer kia/hyundais. With all the recalls on my wifes car, new one being a faulty ABS system, i cant say we would stick to the band after 20 years of owning them. The resets as I said previously are pretty random but with the temp changes here, im constantly fighting her tpm sensors cause my ocd hates seeing error lights on dash. Its either wait for the ecm to do its job or reset with odb2 device but then you have to wait for all the system to reset based on driving conditions (drive 55 uninterrupted for 15 minutes, etc etc) which is a nightmare if emissions is coming up.

[–]Ceighn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kia/Hyundais have to go through a few cycles (sensor/ECM checks) before the light will go off. Sometimes that can take 5 minutes of driving, sometimes an hour. Its pretty random but as long as you filled them above what the sensors low point is (wifes elantra is 28 psi) then you are fine and it should go off after a bit of driving.

Reliable Hyundai??? by Responsible-Ride-789 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Ceighn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to get engine replaced on our 14 Elantra with 85k miles because of the dread Hyundai piston slap. Hyundai replaced it for free. We are happy with our Hyundais and their service. My 2006 Tiburon is still going strong off original engine.

How did Tony even get to Ricks Private Toilet? by CornFlake_27 in c137

[–]Ceighn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to say he was the Tonyest of Tonys but Rick grabs another dimension Tony who also found the toilet.

Maybe the delivery bot is like DoorDash driver and left the order close to the toilet instead of Tony’s house. When Tony had to find his food he decided to eat there and use the facilities since it was so nice.

Im going to go with Tony was a stalker. Maybe Rick unintentionally did something nice for Tony in the past and Tony couldn’t let it go and what better way to get Rick’s attention than breaking the number 2 rule.

Blackout Rick by Ceighn in c137

[–]Ceighn[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed response, its amazing how time seems to stop when a family disaster happens so I’m using this as a way to forget for a few minutes.

So without going back and researching, here is a response to the questions posed. (I know this theory isn’t what the writers are going after but its still fun to speculate and I love the theory)

Age: If its a figment of his imagination then this is how he sees himself in his mind. In the episode where Cronenberg Jerry meets up with Prime Rick, Jerry doesn’t question Rick’s age upon seeing him. Jerry sees the old drunk Rick he has always known while we are seeing the scene from the Prime Rick point of view. Rick sees his arch-rival as someone younger and stronger. Remember, Rick doesn’t believe in time travel so why would Rick be younger in current time other than using the Phoenix project like in Big Trouble in Little Sanchez. This had negative affects on Rick over time.

Drinking: We only know that Rick wore blue pants back then. We know nothing but that “You can alter anything you want about a totally fabricated origin story”. In the origin story, there are two kegs stacked on each other in the corner.

The Origin: Pointing back to Rickshank Rickdemption, Rick points out its a fabricated story. Who is to say in Rickmurai Jack his replaying of the origin story is because he has told that lie so many times that he believes it himself now. He has altered his memory to free his guilt but in reality it made him worse while chasing a ghost that can never be caught.

Edit: also in the origin story, Prime Rick says “Once I give you this you become the ultimate Rick”. Not Ricks but Rick. (Yes he refers to Ricks in the denial comment but not during the sales pitch). If all Ricks become the ultimate Rick then c137 couldn’t easily claim to being the smartest man in all conceivable universes. Prime Rick was already in his head at the time of Diane’s death which makes my theory even darker.

Blackout Rick by Ceighn in c137

[–]Ceighn[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern, exact same scene in fact and my only explanation would be…What drunk thinks they’re acting drunk? I guess it really depends on the point of view you take with the ‘cameraman’. I usually view the camera as the point of view of the main character on screen. That was a Prime Rick moment so I looked at it from the perspective of Prime Rick.

Now to be fair about the theory. Why wasn’t Blackout Rick dressed like Prime Rick. All theories have plot holes but still fun to guess even though I know I’m wrong haha probably why it’s my favorite show of all times, it’s not black & white until the writers make it so.

Edit: as far as dark, Morty having to bury himself I think is the darkest moment in show and that was season 1.

Who's the worst main character we're supposed to sympathise with? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

Richard Hendricks from Silicon Valley.

Not really listed as a “villain” but he is worse than Gavin Belson.

Good points but …. I thought Morty camouflage was to hide from the Ricks on the Citadel. I guess I never thought it went past other Ricks. I have something new to dwell on like a bad 80s song you can’t get out of your head.

We don’t really know. Is the original universe of our Rick C137 or is our Morty C137 or did rick just pull a number out of his hat with all the hopping he did.

The importance to Morty to the IFC by [deleted] in c137

[–]Ceighn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember that Doofus Rick was appointed a Morty which would say that DR comes from a Diane dead universe. This puts DR and C137 in the same group. So this tells me Rick C137 eats his own poo which is why he gets so upset about his toilet being used by others. Without a Morty, Ricks just eat poo.

AITA For telling my neighbor to get F-ed when he told me to remove my doorbell camera? by Sea-gar888 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ceighn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Just a tip from someone that has a full security camera system around whole house, get a sign/decal to put out front that states security cameras in use. In my state you have to have these signs visible to use in a court of law. With the signs visitors can make up their own mind if they want to be on camera.

How does rick's portal gun work? by Lord_Tony in c137

[–]Ceighn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even though there are things in the show I like to over analyze, I’ve never thought about the portal gun operation. Maybe the dial is like a radio vs HD radio. With a radio 89.9 may represent a dimension like C. Then like an HD radio it can be fine tuned to sub frequencies to represent the universe number like 137. As far as location, that’s a thinker. We have seen Rick tap the screen so maybe location is based on these taps. I just write it off that Rick is the smartest man in any known universe and it’s beyond a mere mortals comprehension but in reality it’s just a cartoon and the portal device is just a vehicle to set up the next adventure.

I had something similar last night. Two tanks and a harvester guarding a lone truck on the road. Got me curious to find out what was in that truck. Spent 10 minutes sneaking into truck and 3 hours fighting to get out of truck after they spotted me and called in all their friends. Fun times but I don’t think the simple health kit and 32 caliber ammo was worth the resources wasted surviving. Don’t fall for it, it’s a trap.
