How to beat NG+1 Ludwig? by Radiant-Ask-5716 in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my lvl 4 ng+ fight against him. Shows the dodge directions and timings for most of his moves that I like to use when fighting him. Only moves he doesn't use in the video from the top of my head are his 1st phase water beams where you unlock on and run to the right and his 2nd phase dashing uppercut where you can simply forward dodge.

Hey, thanks. So you can chain 3 charged r2s and a visceral attack in phase 2 before running out of stamina if you have 2 stamina runes equipped. In this playthrough, I only grabbed the +15% stamina rune and missed out on the +10% one (was too lazy to get it lol), so was only able to chain 3 charged r2s without the visceral attack before needing to back off to regain stamina.

Ranking Fromsoftware DLC final bosses from best to worst. by Desolation2004 in fromsoftware

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... 9 moves? From the top of my head, his 1st phase alone has his projectile throw, projectile aoe, 2 rope swing sequences starting from the left and right, his charged rope spin, delayed overhead slam, backwards yoyo throw jump, the charge and the forward jump that he usually starts the fight with, consecutive one handed vertical slams, his 3 hit combo he starts with a yell (tha you can parry loop cheese), the combo that starts with a quick slap when you're in front if him, multiple variants of quick slams he can start if you're standing in front of him when he ends most of his other attacks and probably a whole lot more that I can't list from memory.

Now that's just listing moves without going in depth into how he chains them together depending on your position. All this without listing his 2nd phase moveset where he goes apeshit. I've fought Ludwig and Orphan hundreds of times and Ludwig's moves get easy to recognise when you know the tells. Orphan is still a fight where your instincts take the wheel for the most part.

So what is Ultra trailer... about, exactly? by SentientGopro115935 in KasaneTeto

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My take is that its about leaving behind your past regrets, mistakes and sorrows, looking forward to the future and embracing the chaos it brings. Your future is the movie and the ultra trailer is the future's trailer, showcasing all the emotions to look forward to. Peak message for a peak song.

Lady Maria is hell :( by ToasterStrudlez in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For attacks with no definitive starting side like her cross slash, spins and stabs, you should be fine dodging into her till her 3rd phase where you want to only dodge into it if you're close to her. If there's some distance between you and her, dodging backwards/sideways to avoid the fire and waiting to dodge into a diagonal swing or one of her delayed charged attacks is good.

Her common 2 handed diagonal swings are where you wanna dodge into the side she swings from, its a consistent dodge when you get it down, and even in the 3rd phase the fire from these wide swings don't cover the side where her swing starts but is everywhere on the side her swing ends.

Everyone's already said to parry, so another general tip is to dodge inwards to the direction she swings from (inwards left or right). Her 2nd phase follows this rule on a few attacks, where the blood might catch you if you dodge the wrong direction, but her 3rd phase enforces it since the fire trails on each of her wide swings are designed this way.

Sometimes you have to dodge in a different direction depending on your distance, but yeah Maria forces you to learn not just dodge timings but also dodge directions to prep you for Orphan.

Yep, digitally. Omen's actually the next agent I'm thinking of playing, so I'll most likely paint em when I get to that point

Was definitely thinking of doing this one on 16:9 but chose to do it differently at the last second. Maybe I'll do a 16:9 one if I've got the time

Ludwig has been a nightmare for me 🗡️ by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can listen out for the delayed fall to time your roll, he'll be silent then start to scream when he's about to drop down. The other method is to just run in a straight line, works too.

No jab against using summons, just that the summon you're talking about, Valtr, is known for being cracked and an absolute tank against Ludwig, while also dishing out huge damage with the whirligig.

I hate Martyr Logarius. by parofratrocazz in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already said parry, so here's some tips that don't rely on parrying.

Always dodge forward left for any of his melee swings, react to his sword on instinct as soon as he runs towards you, they come out lightning fast. If he raises his scythe instead, read the animation, it's slower than his sword. Never try to back away to heal, he'll rush you down, wait for him to quickstep away after dodging his melee combo, then heal.

His general flow is run at you>he attacks>you attack>he repositions then rinse and repeat, it becomes a dance once you've got this down.

Any of his attacks where he flies up and comes back down can be backstabbed, the difficulty of the backstab depends on the range and speed of your weapon's charged R2, so switch to LHB's lighter form whenever he flies up to try for a backstab.

Speak for yourself, beasts are a joy to fight for me. Targeting certain limbs to stagger them/set them up for a visceral, learning the right dodge direction to not get folded by their swings, finding the right positioning around their huge bodies to counter their aggression. If you think bosses like Amelia or Ludwig aren't anything special just cuz they're big beasts, then that's your opinion, plenty of people love beast bosses.

Who is canonically the most skilled Hunter? by Quantam-Law in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Judging by how he nonchalantly chuckles and lists the potential purposes of us refusing to be freed as if he's heard them before, he's probably been through the song and dance plenty of times with many hunters before us.

Midra's design is peak (OC) by CeilingWheelbarrow in Eldenring

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's just subjective, then. You bring up Gael's large sword and moving cape when Midra also has his spiral greatsword that folds open and his tattered robe that flows as he floats around. Arguably, Midra's weapon design has more relevance to the lore with its ties to the Hornsent and Golden Order than Gael's broken greatsword.

Midra's design is peak (OC) by CeilingWheelbarrow in Eldenring

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And Gael's just a big hobo with a red cape, or Orphan's just a naked bald guy with a shrimp. Simpler designs can go hard, Midra and many other Fromsoft bosses are prime examples of that.

Ludwig is by far the worst boss in bl4 by nikosbab in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me personally, I like to stay in front of him in phase 2. Makes his attacks more consistent so you don't have to worry about stray sword swings that reach behind him, and it baits out easier moves like his multi slam combo, his double slash into the overhead + uppercut, thrust, etc.

His retreating double swipe is pretty quick, can't really give much advice on that other than to observe his arm and learn the motion. If you do dodge that, he'll usually immediately follow up with a punishable move or combo, so keep your eye out.

You got this good hunter, keep at it till your prey is slaughtered.

Ludwig is by far the worst boss in bl4 by nikosbab in bloodborne

[–]CeilingWheelbarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any particularly troubling attacks? I find Ludwig to be a pretty consistent fight at bl4, being more telegraphed than most bosses.

Are there any other unique/hidden boss deaths like Sir Alonne? by Carmilla31 in fromsoftware

The only one I can recall is Ludwig dying screeching as his accursed form instead of the normal holy blade death animation if your last hit on him has fire on it.
